@coconutcabana 4.43gpa? what kind of grading scale is that?
@jz9chen my b, 3.34 GPA* on a 4.00 scale
Have you guys filled out the housing application? If so, where do you all plan to stay preferably?
They proccessed my housing app and its telling me to select a dorm but I cant decide.
@DeepThots I completed housing a few days ago and saw there were two spaces available at North Quad so I chose that.
I used this guide which I think you’ll find useful:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1469168-guide-to-dorms-at-michigan-p1.html
@TVNerd lucky! i wanted North Quad too bc i’m gonna be an LSA student. but i’m at north campus rn and i’m not even in engineering. i guess they put nq as one of the options later on. where there many options on there when you selected a room?
@maywhit I’m actually an engineering major but opted to dorm at North Quad and take the bus to North Campus everyday (where probably most of my classes will be). There were many North Campus dorms (lots of Bursley) and a few Central Campus dorms available when I was doing housing. But I saw North Quad on there and thought it was too good to be true so I hesitated for a little while. I ended up following my gut and choosing it.
Rejected from LSA 4.0 GPA with 12 credits and 15 this semester. said they wanted juniors. such bullshit
@mganxx so sorry to hear… Same boat as you … freshman with 4.0 etc. but had more credits plus 12 AP. They focus on junior status or CC grads. Although there are sophomores that do get in and I wish I knew how that happens. It’s awful when ur heart is set on it.
is there a specific link that says an app is marked complete? like under wolverine access?
@minatoelric In WA it just showed that one thing of mine (high school transcript or something) was marked as received, and that was it until I got my acceptance. My app was marked complete towards the end of February. I called them around that time and they told me everything was in and not to worry.
I was deciding between North Campus and the Quads. West Quad is being renovated and will be open Fall 2015, which is upcoming. North Campus is cheaper, but it is a hassle. 15-20+ min bus drive is not worth it. People complain about the public bathrooms, but the showers have doors and curtains, so it’s safe. The problem with the dorms is that they are kinda small. The apartment rooms, if you look at the pictures online, are somewhat more roomy. Personally, I don’t know how to cook, and I would not risk wasting precious time traveling back and from from North to Central campus. If I were you, I would pick somewhere in central campus. I’m picking my housing today, so IF ANY MALE STUDENT WANTS TO PICK WEST QUADRANGLE, PLEASE REPLY SO WE CAN BE FRIENDS AND BE ROOMMATES. West Quadrangle’s dining hall is being replaced with study halls, so it’s a good place for people who like to study, but fear that they can’t do so in their small dorms.
If you live in East Quadrangle, then you can literally walk outside, down the street and order coffee, Chinese food, or even salads. I visited the campus today. North Campus is isolated from a lot of things. Pay more money for a more efficient education. Imagine all the time you can be studying and making friends instead of traveling back and forth. You already payed so much for an education, why waste it? That’s my opinion after visiting campus today PS: Mostly everyone at U-M are so good looking. Clothes-wise and gene-wise.
It’s okay. If you maintain a good GPA and get more credits, you have a chance of getting in. It was my first year of college and I applied with 52 credits (20+ from AP classes).
@HikozaruBlaze Hey did you check out all the dorms when you visited? I got into North Quadrangle, do you have any opinions or ideas on that? Especially since I’m an engineering student so I’ll probably have to take the bus everyday to North Campus…
Does anyone know if UMich extends the enrollment deadline for people? I’m waiting to hear back from USC and I have no idea when that will be, but I assume its going to be past the May 1st deadline. Does anyone know who I could contact to ask about this?
I only walked around. I never went inside the dorms at North Quandrangle. Even though you have to take the bus, it seems like a nice place. Yes, living in Northwood Apartments would be more convenient to getting to your class, however you are isolated from the central campus, which I find to be a problem. You can ride the bus to central campus (15-20+ min). I thought that living in North Campus would be okay, but I don’t think it’s a good idea if you want to hang out around central campus, especially when it snows… -_- Anyways, I think you have a good place. You have access to North Campus and Central Campus, so you have a good balance. That’s my personal opinion. People at U-M say North Campus is the worst place to live, but it’s all up to you.
@HikozaruBlaze Than’s for the insight!
@NCXfer I’m pretty sure if you call them and tell them your scenario they’ll extend it, especially if you were accepted recently.
Just got email confirmation that my app has been marked complete after talking to numerous people over past month. Whaaaaat
How come it says my major is LSA undeclared even though I applied as an Econ major? Does it do that for everybody, or did they just admit me as undeclared?
