I’m not sure how important GPA is to the SCA; from what I hear, they’re much more focused on your talent. I’ve met people here at the SCA who had 3.2’s when they applied and they still got in. I had a 4.0 and got rejected, so take that how you will.

Yeah, it’s pretty much all the portfolio, personal statement, and recommendations for Animation at least. A 4.0 doesn’t help much, if at all, in SCA. For Marshall though, it should help from what I’ve heard.

I got rejected last year with a 3.8 gpa for 32 units. Trying again this year :p

EndPhase, were your essays good? What major?

Hey guys! What about Viterbi? Is it as hard to get into Viterbi as, say, Marshall?

How does USC know what classes we are taking during the spring semester? Are we supposed to let them know?

Hey guys I am applying for transferring to Music Industry this Fall. Is anyone trying for Thornton School of Music as well? I wish you all have great decision! Waiting for June~~~

I realized I have done a huge mistake in my essay~ I emailed the admission and provided the update essay and got the receive saying that they’ve already add the information to my application. But I’m not one hundred percent sure that they update my essay and when they process my application, it still shows the old version. I would like to ask can I upload my essay via USCONNECT? I saw an access to submit the essay, but I don’t know if it is ok to do that~~~

Also, if I want to present additional supplement can I also upload through Usconnect?

Any suggestion is highly appreciated! Many thanks!

@SilverRex Ya that’s different though SCA will look at your portfolio no ? PLUS SCA transfer rate is really low … like only 20 out of like a thousand get in, or that’s what I heard … but a 3.2 really ?? then he must have had a crazy portfolio and recs …
@iaimusic … I think USC keeps ALL its documents so when your app is in review they will see the 1st essay as well … how big was the mistake that you had to resend a whole new personal statement ?

Hey guys! How much do they consider your second major choice? I applied for Marshall as my first and Price as my second. I know Mashall is really competitive, but how about Price? Is Price hard to get into?

@bycity94: They consider your second major choice with equal weight as your first choice. I don’t know how competitive Price is.

@Transfer20I3: It just goes to show that for a talent-based school like the SCA, a great GPA doesn’t hold as much weight as it probably does in other schools.

@frankbot2000: You were supposed to send in a transcript with your fall grades and spring classes. That’s how they know what your spring classes are.

@iaimusic: Anything else you need/want to submit can be done so via USConnect. Just to make sure, you’ll want to call the admissions department to clarify with the issues about the essay, and ask if it should be re-uploaded. They can’t count it against you for sending in extra materials.

@bycity94
I put Marshall first and Price second also!

@basketballer123 cool! Are you a sophomore transfer?

@SilverRex thanks for the help. Do you know if there are a lot of applicants that put down Price as one of their majors?

@SilverRex I sent in my transcript with my fall grades to USC along with my app. Are the classes that I am currently taking for spring be on the transcript as well? I really hope so…

@bycity94: No problem! All I know is that each school within USC is competitive in their own right.

@frankbot2000: Did you register for spring classes before sending in your transcript? If so, then your spring classes should have been included on the transcript.

@SilverRex I did register for spring classes before sending my transcript. I’m glad the classes are on there! I was worried for a second that I did something wrong. Thank you for replying!

@bycity94 Yup! I assume you are too haha

@basketballer123 i am haha.

Just booked my airfare to go apartment hunting (June 11th through June 19th). Here’s hoping it’ll be somewhere on the Silver Line because I’ve been accepted to USC.

@randomnewguy you got your decision already ? freshman app ?
