Yes, it’s true that I can see the stats of every individual student that got in. But I’m asking for the number of transfer students (external) that get accepted into Marshall. (Last few years would be the most preferable)

If that information was available the sharks on here would be all over it. I’m just saying.

Put forth your best on the application and sit back & relax.

Like @Fdominguez said you would have to look at pass transfer threads for that info. From what I’ve seen most people that posted their stats for Marshall were 3.7 and above. Mainly 4.0’s

Hi:) Do you guys know if we have to send our high school transcripts and SATs right now or when they tell us to?

(btw I will have 30 units by the spring, and according to a USC transfer student they don’t look at hs information if you have 30 units by spring. But I’m just curious if I still have to send my transcripts)

Hey everyone. I attend a CA CC and am planning to apply as a transfer for the fall as a sophomore and had a couple questions. My major is journalism/comm btw.
First of all i would love to know my chances of getting in with a 4.0 first semester GPA and I should have most if not all the GE categories of my articulation completed by the spring semester. I was also wondering about AP credit counting towards the 30 credits. I got a 5 on my AP Spanish test in HS and if that counts towards transfer credit I would have 30 units by the end of my spring semester which I believe makes my chances better because they don’t look at your HS transcript. Thanks for the help.

I called back in the fall semester and asked specifically about the same thing, as a matter of fact I asked about getting a 5 on same AP Spanish as yo, anyways the transfer rep from USC told me that it will transfer for I think 4 units and fill the language req, unfortunately I was informed they wont count towards the 30 count

Wow well that sucks, cause without that I don’t think I’ll have 30 credits and my high school grades and test scores aren’t bad but they’re not the best. Hopefully my 4.0 this past semester helps me out

I think admissions said that competitive applicants have around 30 credits, and if you currently have less than 30 credits (as in, at the time of application submission), they will rely on your first semester college grades as well as test scores and high school transcript.

I talked to admissions on the phone multiple times… so yeah. hahaha, I’m desperate to get in!

I saw people wondering about admissions for USC and what happens if you don’t get into your school of choice. According to the councilor I talked to, the applicant is first admitted to USC as a whole and then admitted to their schools of study. For example, I applied to School of Architecture and Roski as my 1st and 2nd choices. I first have to be accepted to USC as a whole and then admitted to S. of Arch or Roski. If I don’t get into those schools, since I was accepted into USC in general, I’m placed in Dornsife as an undeclared major.

Hi guys,
I’m currently a sophomore at UC Davis(Computer Science Major) and I’m applying to transfer to USC as a Computer Science with an emphasis in Games major for Fall 2014. I would like to know my chances of getting in. I currently have a 3.77 cummulative GPA and 3.80 Major GPA with 70 units(50 something units are transferrable). I did not do too well on my SATs(1720) but, I’m hoping they won’t hinder my chances too much. I’m in the 95th percentile in all of my Computer Science classes here at Davis(I asked my professors). Here are my extracurricular activities:

1) Dragon Boat - Participated in Dragon Boat for 3 years in high school. Won around 5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals. This water sport took around 9 hours/week and I did it for around 32 weeks/year.

2) Developed and co-founded a social website that makes second-hand trading safer and more convenient, was lead programmer in charge of the efficiency and structure of the website. Used languages such as JavaScript and PHP to create the website.

3) Individual Application Developer - Teamed up with a fellow colleague and used Construct 2 to develop video game applications for the Microsoft Store at Microsoft hosted hackathons at Davis. Developed a total of 20 applications that can be viewed on and downoaded from the Windows 8 Microsoft Store.

4) Intel’s Ultimate Engineering Experience - Pitched an application idea in front of a board of investors which resulted in second place in an application development competition. Designed and developed a video game application using HTML 5 and JavaScript that provided an engaging and educational experience for the user.

5) Computer Science Tutor - Tutored three students in various C/C++ programming courses and two students in a data structures and algorithms class, all of my students received A’s in their respective classes.

@cuo741 lol i came from uc davis. HATED it over there so i left bc ugh such bad experiences. plus my gpa was like so bad. but anyway i think you have a good shot ^^

@wdemasters02 does the placed in dorsnlife as undeclared major apply to people over 30 units???

Could somebody help me with a few questions?

On the common app, it says under the USC “Assign Reccomenders” tab that 1 “academic Evaluator” is required. What is this? Do I need to get one filled out? I though that USC does not require any teacher recommendations?

Also, how do I go about mailing in HS records? I’m planning on heading over to my HS tomorrow. What will I need? What should I ask for?

Also, for people who took the CHSPE, would that count as a “education interruption” if I graduated early with it? If so, what category would it fall under?

Is anyone here applying from across the country? I’m in NC, and USC is everything I want in a school; located in a city, my ideal place to live after college (perhaps tied with NYC), great j-school, etc. But I can’t help but wonder if it’s really worth that distance being that UNC Chapel Hill is 2 hours away from me, cheaper, etc. with a good j-school also. I know I shouldn’t worry about this yet because I haven’t even gotten accepted to either yet, but I know I want to apply to these two schools among others. Any advice guys?

@scrubsfan101 it’s a teacher rec. and yes i thought usc does not require one. however, i think that has changed. i called about a week ago and i spoke to admissions and the lady said yes that needs to be filled out. also on their site i think it says that you need to fill one out and it says like “please ask your recommender before putting them on the app”

mail it to admissions put like attn: undergraduate admissions. their address should be on their transfer site it should be something like university park (Address) just ask for ur hs transcript it should be official with special letterhead and sealed with school envelope (what my school has)

Thanks for the very quick response. Concerning teacher recommendations, are they due the exact same time as the common app (feb 1)? I know a teacher I can email right now who would fill one out for me. When should I tell her it needs to be completed by?

And my high school should have my records available at my HS right? If so, will they print it for me on the spot? (i’ve never done this before so I’m kind of lost). Will they give me the sealed official transcript and then I will need to mail it? (I’ll look on the USC website for the address)

@SSCRuBSFan101, your high school should have them. If not, they’re not doing their job. Typically it takes more than 24 hrs to get your official transcripts. It depends on your school. My school gives me the sealed official transcript and makes me mail it. Your school might do that OR send it for you:)

If I’m entering as a sophomore transfer student, do i need to fulfill all the major prerequisites (psych)?
