Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

Most public school systems have a system where your high school keeps your transcript for a predetermined number of years, and then it is sent into the Matrix so the NSA can recall your high school grades at a moment’s notice.

@scrubsfan101 I hope randomnewguy and randombookie helped you with the transcript response. but i came from a private school so what I had to do was go over there and tell them i need a transcript. then she would print it out for me in an official paper with letterhead, put it in a sealed envelope, and i had to pay a fee lol -_-" and after i received it, i would put usc’s mailing address and mail away! but i don’t know how public school works if you did go to a public school.

I just checked the USC transfer page. It says “Please submit these items by Feb. 1” then it has a list of stuff. Then, it says about the recommender. It’s not part of the checklist but I am assuming it’s gonna be due by Feb. 1. So I feel that if it is postmarked on Feb. 1, it should be fine but I am not too sure. You might want to call and check. But it might be best to do it as early as possible to allow them to process ect ect. You should tell her it is due by Feb. 1. So hopefully she will complete it as soon as possible. I told my teacher this and he completed it within 5 days.

The previous posters helped me a lot. I called my HS and they informed me that Tuesday they are open and that I will be able to pick up my official transcript after 24 hours. I’ll mail it in once I get them on wednesday.

I’ve also emailed a list of teachers and will go in person to the ones teaching winter courses monday and ask in person if they don’t respond to my email by the end of the weekend. Thank you for the help! I greatly appreciate it! I’ll just work with the assumption that recs are due feb.1

All the offline materials(transcripts, for example) need to be mailed to the following address:
USC Office of Admission
Undergraduate
University Park Campus
Los Angeles, CA
90089-0911

And if you mail them the deadline is by postmark, though I don’t recommend you to mail the documents on the very last day lol

CS Games at Viterbi is my 2nd choice! I think you have a very good shot. I am kind of worried because Viterbi requires prospective CS majors to complete two semesters of C/C++ and my current school only offers JAVA

@Clordia

Thanks! I plan on emailing HS transcript, CHSPE transcript, and my college transcripts next week. It’s just my LOR I’m worried about… but I doubt all 3 of the teachers I am asking will take until the end of the month to finish one… (or so I hope D: )

Need some help here

If I’m entering as a sophomore transfer student, do i need to fulfill all the major prerequisites (psych)?

thanks!

…my 2nd choice Cal Poly SLO accepts me & i have to accept/decline their acceptance by May 1st?

USC doesn’t let me know until June :frowning:
I don’t wanna commit to another school if USC accepts me!!!

How do i deal with this?

@RoysGoin2College
Accept CPSLO’s offer. If USC ends up accepting you and you decide not to go to SLO, you would just tell Cal Poly you’re no longer going there.

I almost had to eat a deposit at another school. It’s worth it.

Which semester of what year did you guys complete USC’s writ130 requirement?

I did mine second semester first year

Same as fdominguez. I fulfilled writ 130 second semester first year and entered USC as a sophomore.

I’ve been reading the posts on this thread for awhile. I feel like I’m the only one who has submitted their app.

Has anyone else turned in their App?

Similar question as Roy here, but is there a deadline for transfers to commit to a school? Because as you know for freshman its April 1st. I know USC gives their admission much later than some other schools I want to apply to. What happens if I have to decide on a school before I get USC’s decision? I can just commit and then after I find out about USC let them know I’m not attending any more? Is that even possible?

I’m pretty nervous about the writ 130 requirement.
2 English classes at my JC are equivalent to writ 130 & I’ve only completed one.
The last one I’m taking this spring semester.
I feel confident about everything else though, I’m an engineering transfer that’s well beyond the calculus II & 1 lab course requirement.

Same thing here two classes to complete it

NCXfer… You can accept any admissions offer to any school and bolt for USC as long as you don’t register for courses or accept financial aid. You might have to eat a deposit, but they can’t hold you hostage. USC was the very last school to send in a decision and I almost had to eat a deposit, but it’s SC, so y’know, it’s totally worth it.

do any of you guys know any admitted people who didn’t quite finish the foreign language requirement?

@hardworkxjc

What is you major? Some majors like Marshall biz don’t have a language requirement
