I’ve been following the classes on the USC transfer guide for the most part. Most credits should transfer over, I’m just a little worried as I’m out of state and the articulation is a little fuzzy.

Ill prob call in a week or two like you mentioned though.

@SedulousAeris I’m in the same boat as you the articulation is a little fuzzy with in staters also. I guess we just have to follow the guide as best as we can. I would just recommend have all the requirements done by the fall.

@everyone do you guys know when the actual 2014 transfer guide will be coming out? I know the common app closes on the 12, and reopens on the first for 2014. Any students that already applied know a timeline as to when they will be updating the website and releasing the guides for fall 2014? I’m sure this will help all my fellow SC hopefuls also.

I would say that USC mostly cares about gpa average. If you have straight A’s, you have a very good (not guaranteed) chance for admission. It doesn’t hurt either to have an extra curricular on your resume either. Also, it should be dually noted that they don’t like W’s on your transcript.

Hey do any of my fellow hopefuls know how a transfer student can get an application fee waiver?? I would really appreciate the help. I know this will help some others also.

SC is private bro it has nothing to do with the state. It will be just as hard for me as it is for you. You should contact a counselor about those ap courses.

O wow! That’s pretty similar to UT-Austin. Do people still sent their high school transcript in anyways? Also, can AP credits help to fufill the 30 transferable units?

I’m OOS so I’m not sure if I will have 30 transferable units.

They just don’t base your admission on your high school transcripts of you have more than 30 college units, but I they need to see them as proof of graduation.

AP EXAM CREDIT AT USC
Credit: USC awards 4 units of elective credit for most AP examinations taken Spring 2009 or later with a score of 4 or 5. Exams must be taken before matriculation at any two-year or four-year college. (Most AP tests taken before Spring 2009 with a score of 3 will also earn elective units.)

Restrictions:

AP scores do not earn course equivalence.
Students may not receive credit for both an AP exam and a college course taken before high school graduation covering the same subject matter, nor for AP and IB exams covering the same subject matter.
A maximum of 32 units will be granted for AP exam credit.
No credit is given for projected scores, partial scores or subscores, such as Calculus AB Subscore, Music: Aural Subscore, or Music: Nonaural Subscore.

General Education: In addition to elective units, scores of 4 or 5 for certain exams will satisfy General Education requirements, as shown in the table below.

This was off the SC website under FAQ’s for academics.

@Korsgaard Bro, you have to search the site a little to find what your looking for. If not you will be here all day asking questions and waiting for responses haha, but I know everyone here will help you as best we can.

If you have any more questions that I know the answers to I will be more than happy to help you.
