I’m just trying to figure out how I can do this all on time because I do have 5 different schools to get transcripts from LOL

Would I have to go to each school and order the transcripts and have them mailed off to USC??

Also, since I went to 5 different schools, how would they determine which classes are included in the GPA cause I heard some won’t be transferrable…

@TonyStark93 I would definitely call each school and ask if they have an online option…most do. It’s so much easier, and some schools don’t charge you extra to send them that way. I wouldn’t stress too much about getting them there on Saturday, just get them there as close to Saturday as possible, they won’t hate you just because they get there a few days late! :)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure they calculate your GPA with every class you have taken, regardless of whether it is transferable or not. That’s my believe because it wouldn’t be fair for someone who takes all transferable units and has a 3.5 to be competing against someone who fails all of their classes except for one that is transferable (because technically they would have a 4.0).

Does anyone know how I would submit a recommendation letter from my boss? Common App only allows from professors it seems. Should I mail it with my CAID included?

@tamoorc Just put your bosses name in the section, but no e-mail.
I had to send my teachers in because the common app wouldn’t let them upload it. What I did was in the botton left-hand corner on the front with the address I put:
Re: name
“Letter of Recommendation”
CAID #

Also if you mail it in make sure the return address is for your boss and not you.

I submitted my application 2 days ago but when I logged into my common application today, my academic evaluator said “started”. Can teachers still turn in the letter of rec. after the deadline??

@tamoorc If I recall correctly, they let you choose “Professor” or “Advisor”? Or something along those lines? When filling it out for someone who is not my professor, I chose the latter. I think that would be the best route.

@xsayax Can I ask why we should put their return address and not ours? Thanks!

@uscindian I said both, but within the same sentence so I didn’t sound scattered. For example: “Dornsife and its school of International Relations will…”

@hepburn95 Because we are supposed to have waived our rights to see the recommendation, that way it doesn’t look like it’s coming from you (even if it is).

@TonyStark It’s typically when you have a low number of credits (sophomore transfer) or if you have an upward trend that they want to make sure is continuing upward. Other than that, it’s if you are borderline acceptance and they want to see what “for sure” acceptances end up enrolling.

^Yes, as long as it’s in before midnight!
If I’m correct, it’s midnight PST (since USC is in California), but the Common App shows up in EST, so if you’re on the west coast and you turn it in at night, you should be okay even if the app shows it at a later time.
It was either that, or midnight in your time zone, I can’t remember which one I’m sorry ><

Is anyone adding additional comments to their application? Like if USC is the only school they’re applying to, guarantee you will enroll if admitted, etc?

my professor tried uploading a letter for me and it keeps saying “PDF generation in progress”. What should he do?? has anyone had a problem like this?
