@NCXfer Not necessarily, it depends on both your academic standing, and how much you need it. Someone with a 4.0 who doesn’t need it as much as someone with a 3.8 who needs it is not necessarily going to get more than the other person (if that makes sense). It’s all on a case by case basis. If you show that you really need FA but your grades are not fantastic, do not count yourself out. Getting into the school is getting into the school, and they will help you attend.

Hi guys, I am over 30 units, more like 80 semester units, so do I put no for:

‘Do you wish to self-report scores from any of the following standardized tests: ACT, SAT/SAT Subject, AP, IB, TOEFL, PTE Academic, and IELTS?’

You aren’t required to self report your scores with over 30 units @asd

@NCXfer Is it recommended to do so? Or do all transfers over 30 units just put ‘No’?

Just submitted my application. That was really close.(1 hour before the deadline) Good luck everyone!

@asd You can if you think that your SAT scores will help you, it’s your call haha. All I know is that you aren’t required.

Accepted students who submit all required financial aid materials (FAFSA, CSS/Profile & tax info) by the deadlines will receive a need-based package based on their income and asset information. Their relative academic stats will have NO impact on the amount of need-based aid they receive. http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/applying_receiving/undergraduates1/transfers.html

Hey guys do you know if it is still possible to change the major that we selected after submitting the application?

@Euphoriaaaaa from the common app site “Once an application or writing supplement has been submitted to any institution, you cannot make any changes to it (just as if you had dropped it in the mail), and we are not permitted to make changes on your behalf.”
You have to talk to USC directly if you need something changed now.

Generally speaking, if you aren’t considered for admissions for your first major, will they then look at your second major choice for admissions?

@Euphoriaaaaa
They will

Guys, this is urgent. I don’t have the registrar and academic evaluator filled because I read that it was not required. However common app won’t let me submit the application, what am I supposed to do?

Like the ‘Registrar’ and ‘Academic Evaluator’ portions under ‘Assign Recommenders’ have orange dots next to them, and on ‘Preview and Submission - Common App’ says I still need to do ‘All required Recommender assignments’

@asd You need to put the person who wrote your letter(s) of recommendation under the “Academic Evaluator.” As far as the registrar goes, your school should have information about it on their website (if they have a “transfer center” or “admissions info” tab). If you absolutely cannot figure out the information before hand, I would probably put your school’s general admissions email, or something along those lines. They should provide you with the information though.

@hepburn95 I didn’t have anyone write a letter of recommendation for me. I thought it wasn’t needed. What should I do?

So I applied yesterday and I’d like to log on to the site to see when they receive my transcripts and such, does anyone know how we find out what our email and password are/how we get on the site? Thanks in advance and congrats everyone on finishing our applications!

@asd The letter of recommendation isn’t required, it is only required IF the specific school within you are applying to requires one. Some people also just get them to help appeal to admissions.

@LMUtoUSC The site says “Undergraduate applicants for fall 2014 will receive an e-mail notification once their USConnect account is available. Please allow approximately five (5) business days once the USC Office of Admission has received and processed your application for admission.”
So USC will notify you when you can log in. I can’t log in either yet :(

@xsayax Thank you so much! I figured that would be the case, just didn’t know how long it would be till they notified me about the log in info!

Wow, haven’t been in this thread for awhile and looks like it really blew up!

Haha, now we play the waiting game… people from the 2013 thread weren’t kidding when they said waiting is the hardest part…

@Hopeitworks The fact that some people don’t hear until July is horrible!!!

So to keep this thread active, does anyone want to post stats and chance others?
