I am pretty worried about my transcripts and them not getting processed/sent and everything. Can I personally hand in my transcripts to the admissions office just in case?

SOOOO I just called the Office of Admissions and the lady on the phone said they extended the application deadline to February 18th. Why didn’t they post that on the website?! Ugh if I knew I had 2 extra weeks I would have had more time to perfect my application!

@tonystark93 I am planning on changing some things and when I called they said to mail it to them. I wonder why they extended the deadline. Did they not get as many applicants as they expected this year?

Unfortunately the extended deadline also means that they will probably take longer to give us a decision…hopefully this is due to a lower number of applicants!

Very interesting, I wonder why. And yea, it actually kind of sucks, with what @hepburn95 said, as well as potentially trying to get housing. I’m very curious as to why they did that…

Maybe there is a high amount of people who haven’t submitted their applications. Since USC can see who hasn’t submitted them (since they sent out an e-mail towards the end of January giving application tips to those who hadn’t yet sent in their app).

@TonyStark93 Is your heart set on business? Did you apply other places? It’s ok if you don’t get into Marshall, because they will consider you for an undecided major. Do you think you could get in as an undecided applicant? Also, define “screwed up.” You may be more critical on yourself than others would be.

@xsayax - I hope they extended the deadline because of a low number of applicants. That would make it easier for all of us lol (Wouldn’t many of us get in so long as we meet their standards since there would be almost no competition?). Unless a lot of people decide to suddenly apply now.

@esai23 I wonder if people are even going to notice. It’s not like they sent out an email. Unless you are doing multiple apps on CA, you wouldn’t log on if you thought the deadline passed.

@TonyStark93 I’m pretty sure that Undecided applicants still fall under Dornsife, so it doesn’t matter if you go undecided or pick a major in Dornsife, you have the same chances. USC admits you to the school of concentration, not the major. I think having undecided as your 2nd choice is your best chance if you don’t get into Marshall. Maybe you can call them or write a letter to explain the drop in GPA? If not, they might just SGR you to see if you improve your grades this semester. And if you do, they will probably forgive the fluke.

i’m so glad that I checked this post! Otherwise I would have never noticed the extended deadline. Has this ever happened before? I hope it’s true that they have a lower amount of applicants this year.

so I’m currently attending University of Miami and I submitted my transfer application to USC a few weeks ago. During this waiting time I just can’t stop worrying if I will get in or not. What do you guys think my chances to get into USC are?

I applied for sociology major as a sophomore transfer (I am currently a freshmen), with a 3.58 gpa for my first semester. My recommendation is from my English teacher. I got A for her class and we were pretty close so hopefully she wrote something nice about me. As for supplements, I believe it was good enough. I wrote about the reasons I love the well-rounded student body supported with my experiences when I visited USC, some opportunities from the courses of my intended major and minor I can benefit from, and finally some comparisons i made between UMiami and USC (in a good way though). However, due to the limited credits granted by my current school, I didn’t have 30 credits when I submitted my application. What’s even worse is that my SATs are pretty bad (1790 is the highest…) but I believe my high school transcripts are not as bad (32 for final IB exams and received an IB diploma)

I’m really concerning about the likelihood of being admitted, since I am coming from an out-state private school, and since I don’t have impressive SATs and GPA. What do you guys think :-/ ?
