Yes. My counselor told me that one W, with a good reason, is understandable. 2-3 will definitely work against you.
2&3) “Grades must receive at least a grade of C- (or pass/credit) to transfer”(USC Articulation), so that D isn’t gonna fly. Transfer admission decisions are made almost completely based on academics. The average transfer GPA on a college 4.0 scale was 3.6 for Fall 2012, meaning you aren’t exactly going to have a very competitive application. But if you can voice your story and situation through the writing section (which will be difficult, but possible), you may have a shot at admission. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you apply to Dornsife, you are going to be put up against USC’s largest application pool. This could work against you if the competition is as stiff as it has been.
(you put 5 before 4…?) Spring grades are taken into consideration IF more information is required to make an admissions decision. It sounds like you’re going to be applying as a Junior, so admissions may or may not request spring grades. Your best chance of getting them to request spring grades is to get straight A’s this fall and write a very compelling essay. Make them want you.

I hope you find something helpful here. Best of luck!

How are we going to send the official transcript? Also when would it be the ideal time to submit the app? I know its early but hey “rather safe then sorry”

Taken from the articulation agreement between USC and my CCC.

ONL (Online or hybrid courses): Elective units are granted. Online or hybrid sections of this course do not earn GE III or a foreign language level. If you took a traditional classroom section, submit an articulation petition with detailed registration information, not a course syllabus.

So I guess keep away from them, and specifically do not even try GEIII or the FL online.
But if they are all electives as they state they are granted. I have read in other threads that they have no way to know if courses are online and that the units will just transfer but I would rather play it safe than sorry.

just found this also from my art. agreement:
Non-traditional course formats:
Foreign language or laboratory science courses taught online or via distance learning, television, or correspondence will not earn course equivalence and will not satisfy Core requirements; they earn elective units only. USC will review on a case-by-case basis courses taught in non-traditional time modes such as concentrated “intensive” sessions or special weekend modules. Petitions regarding these types of classes are accepted from USC students only.

@mkwon900 Thank you so much! This was very helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to respond And OMG LOL! I did put 5 before 4. I was in a rush ^_^

Well what is your plan? If you want to enter as a sophmore you need atleast 30 units and that is 30 transferable units. So usually that would be like 4-5 classes per semester for two semesters.

Hello fellow Trojans in progress! Hope you are all well, and the application process is going just as well. I haven’t been in the boards in a while, so I’m not sure If anyone has asked this yet.

But

On the Common App Writing Supplement section for USC what exactly are the “Quick Takes Self 2 & 3” asking for?

LOL I am on the same page, I believe that is where you put the second and third word for the “Describe yourself in three words” question. In the quick takes two you put your second word and third for third. There is no way you can fit 3 words in the short little space they give you.

Hi everyone!
USC has been my dream school for several years now. However, I did not get in and will be attending CSU Long Beach this fall. I’m basically just posting right now to keep updated on this thread. Good luck to everyone who will be applying for 2014!
By the way, what is everyone’s majors?
Mine is Art History!

The 3 does not count, they don’t accepts 3’s and the other two account for 4 semester units so as of right now you got 8 units so you are missing 22. Arrange the remaining to your liking just make sure you take the lower division writing requirement and the diversity read your articulation agreement a couple of times it may be different from mine and remember to talk to your councelour.

Hey guys, I will be a freshman this fall at Cal Poly SLO; however, I want to transfer to USC for Fall 2014. Does anyone know how hard it is to get in as a sophomore? What will my GPA have to be to be competitive? Also, is HS GPA/SAT a factor?
