Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@trollieggs‌ Nope! They aren’t required for USC. You don’t need to turn in any additional forms aside from HS/college transcripts and letters of rec (if you’re sending them by mail).

Just submitted, have you guy signed up for USConnect, the USCID on the mail they sent me doesn’t seem to work.

@jucery13 I submitted on the 30th and I haven’t gotten any email for a USCID

Hello guys!

So a few questions and I would REALLY appreciate if someone would answer them for me, even though I know it’s late…

So here are my stats:

Current year: Freshman
GPA in spring 2015: 3.92
Major: Architecture
ECs: I work at a restaurant as a cashier, and I also work as a receptionist in a medical office. I taught piano (for free) to an autistic child and I wrote about that in my supplement to them. My high school ECs are Red Cross [president], softball, and journalism.
Classes: I did Categories I, II, III, IV, Calc II, and my lower-division writing requirement along with two architecture classes.
My essays were okay, if not, good but they didn’t stand out with excellence nor did they drip with emotion from a personal life-changing experience.
I got a letter of recommendation from my architecture professor, so I’m hoping that really helps.
I have ONE ‘W’ and that was in the summer… I heard W’s don’t really hurt as long as it’s not more than one… Is this true?

I read on this forum that high school GPA does matter even if you did complete 30 units, and well, I did fine my freshman-junior years in high school but I fell hard in senior year. The classes I failed in aren’t a part of my major at all and they’re APs, but I’m really frightened that they’ll be turned off by that… Can anyone offer advice? /:

And we can still submit tomorrow right?

Thanks all! Good luck!

Just submitted my app and while everything went well I am feeling like I should have asked me professor to submit a letter of recommendation for me :expressionless: will usc accept late LOR by mail?

@NCXfer By mail i meant actually mail, not email. On the Transfer mail, it has a USCID. I tried it to register for USConnect but it didn’t work.

@jucery13‌ I don’t know what USConnect is but I’m sure they’ll send us another email sometime soon about this. I did, however, get an email about something similar called you.usc.edu

I got the USCID in the mail too, but I didn’t try to use it.

@Numbersz‌ When did you get that in the mail? I never received anything in the mail, unless you’re taking about email? Lol.

I think USConnect was what they used last year. I remember using it last year for my failed transfer attempt, but the whole “youSC” looks totally different from that. There are some links on there that look exactly like the USConnect I remember, so it really just seems like a new start page basically.

So once you submit the application, are you supposed to go to usc connect and put in the email address you used for your app and request a password?

Do we have to submit SAT scores on the common app?

@jucery13 How long ago did you send in your application? I haven’t gotten anything in the mail?

@NCXFer That’s pretty much what I did. Just go to you.usc.edu like someone else mentioned and register. It’s pretty helpful because it does let you know what documents are pending and if they need anything else.

@NCXfer‌ I think you get an email once USC gets your application in their hands and they will tell you to register with the website you.usc.edu with the same email you used for common app.

Well I’m supposed to transfer this fall… I contact admissions and they said you can take all 3 foreign language courses when you get to USC no problem. I’m just wondering if I can take a course over summer, then at least skip the 1st course and go right into the 2nd course for the language.

@amandak212 I’m not positive, but I believe someone asked this in last year’s thread and they were told that after being admitted to USC, they weren’t allowed to take courses from any other college (not even during the summer). This would make me think they wouldn’t allow something like that, but it’s probably a good idea to ask the admissions office.

Hey guys
Im in USConnect, but there’s practically no “application status update” or anything of that sort.
Is this just me or are you guys experiencing the same problem?

@beachbum0130 Are you talking about youSC? if so then I have nothing either.

@NCXfer‌ just curious, but whats the diff between USConnect and youSC?
