@jucery13 Oh cool! my brother went to CSULB for his bachelors in Business finance and now is dowing his MBA at USC.
CSULB rejected me this year. I know people with 3.9 GPA’s in my major who got denied. IDK why they’re so strict this year.
Seems like you’ve got pretty much everything set. you’ve got a good shot. Nice gpa too.
I live like 10-15 mins from USC so i’ll commute. though i’d love to dorm…not worth the extra 10k+
@mlusikyan Yeah I have no idea why CSULB denies some really good applicants, our average GPA and SAT scores aren’t to hot. Im still debating what to do about housing , that’s why I’m asking everyone lol. The thing is that I live like 5 min away from CSULB so commuting to USC would be like 30 min from my place. If i get into USC though I would really like to go all out and live near campus, and be around campus everyday, I really want the full college experience and I believe there is no place better then USC. Furthermore the Parking Passes cost a fortune at USC, and I would be spending a ton on gas, so living off campus near usc would only be like a $200-$300 difference a month. CSULB is a huge commuter school, everyone just goes to school and goes home, I’ve been to a couple events but its nothing compared to the spirit and vive that USC has to offer. Nevertheless, I actually really like CSULB it’s a cool school, with a cool campus, and a awesome gym. I heard USC’s gym isn’t so nice, which is actually something that’s really important for me.
@MDimac If you want a rough idea , look at the threads from last year, so far one person on this thread has claimed to have gotten a spring grade request, I believe most of us will start getting more information around mid April.
Has anybody else noticed that when you log on to you.usc.edu and look at your USC Financial Aid Status that it says “Financial Aid Awards for transfer students are not released until early May.” It is kind of interesting that financial aid is awarded before acceptance… haha ._.
@jucery13 I live in Long Beach too and have a ton of friends who go there. It definitely does seem like a commuter school to me. I feel like it is the most applied to CSU because of its ideal location and high quality of certain programs. Nevertheless, they do not have my major and I would love to be caught up in campus life at a place like USC.
I got a winter grade request on March 17th because my university is on the quarter system. I’m guessing this is the type of grade request njoi123 got as well.

@mmoore0142 Yup! I follow there IG to, I really hope all of us get those nice golden packages! Lol I’m gonna ask the same question that I’m asking everyone, what are your housing plans if you do get accepted? @sarahhg Yeah, that might be the case, what major are you applying for . Also, I’m gonna ask the same question to you as well, what are your housing plans if you do get accepted?
@jucery13 If I get in (in my dreams) I’m definitely looking at the apartment buildings across the street! I’ll be a junior so not living directly on campus. There are a few apartments I know of though. I believe a few are called The Plaza, The Icon, The Tuscany. Even one a little down the road called The Lorenzo. Practically all of their residents are students I believe. There are even apartments that I hear people like even more that aren’t in complexes as big as these ones. I’ll definitely look into those as well! I know I don’t want to be commuting every day, though even though I live in So Cal. I just want to be as close to the campus as possible!
My son is a junior at USC. He is away on a semester abroad. Last year he lived at the Lorenzo. Almost too good to be true - pools, gyms, brand new, etc. He liked it. Only complaint was that the management could be a little overly strict about rules.
@nigelb what was the pricing like? I would love to live in one of those apartments but i gotta figure out the cost. Im thinking about getting a job on campus if I do get in. Lol to all you guys reading my post I know I am planning ahead of time, but hey I’m optimistic!
@mmoore0142 If both of us get in and, you’re looking for a male roommate; and you ain’t a total creep ;). I’m your man lol.
