Sgr people obviously can be rejected as well
Currently doing homework listening to USC Marching Band, need that motivation while doing homework. I really like their cover’s The Offspring’s songs. But I highly doubt they haven’t started looking at applications.
@bobisweird Well, an SGR isn’t a full assessment or evaluation in any way. It doesn’t take much to tell if someone needs an SGR if you are on an admissions panel. A bulk of the people who receive SGR’s are those who do not have the thirty units completed or those who are on a quarter system; these are the only people who have been receiving the SGR’s.
Omg!! I thought for sure I was going to lose my 4.0 this last quarter w/ at least two B’s in Calculus and Chemistry… Was actually even losing sleep over it before finals. But grades were posted today and I kept it!!! I can’t wait to send in my winter grades, I feel like the luckiest person on this planet!!
@HappyLifeMachine good job! Keep up the good work!
They’re definitely looking at applications already. As soon as they were done with the freshmen applications, they jumped right into the transfers. I don’t see why they would want to wait an entire month to start reviewing applications. They started reviewing freshman applications since October, and on YouSC for freshman applicants, it said they’ll be reviewing through the month of March (starting from October), then mailing their decisions in April (or in this year’s case, late March). That gave them 6 months to review 50,000 freshman applicants.
Same process as with transfers: they’ll be reviewing through the month of May (starting from March), then mail out decisions in June. That gives them 3 months to review 10,000 transfer applicants, which sounds about right. Most likely, most of us will hear back in late May. I wouldn’t count on getting a very early notification, unless you have real killer essays and a 4.0 gpa and fantastic extracurriculars… etc.
I agree, however, with @RAHforHEE, don’t stress about checking everyday. It’ll just make the waiting process seem longer. As with the freshman applicants, we won’t know until they mail out those golden packages. I’d say only check in on YouSC every other week, and worry about keeping up grades (just in case you get SGR’d).
Just got a Winter grade request. I am on a quarter system. My GPA is 3…97.
I have applied for Business Administration (Marshall)
@Formergymnast21 - I did get a WGR today. Already sent in my WGR (Uploaded it).
So, they are reviewing the transfer apps for sure. I have a 3.97 and 80 quarter units.
We dont know that he was rejected for one B. There can be many reasons for rejections. No use speculating.
So I guess they are mostly reviewing quarter system applicants since the only ones who have heard back are getting winter grade requests. In last years thread I noticed that most semester systems got SGR’s or acceptances through out May and some got acceptances in July
@jakecasino Thank you thank you! I just can’t believe it!
@ForeverGymnast21 Bahh I’m getting anxious because I haven’t received a WGR yet and I’m pretty positive that they will need it since I just finished up some important classes last quarter. I think I’ll just go ahead and send it before I get a request anyway though.
Was the Winter/Spring Grade Requests done through email or youSC? or both?
@81Mamba I haven’t gotten one this year, but it should be both. I would only check on their site after getting an email saying they needed something.
I am at UC Davis now, a quarter system school as well. I did not receive the winter grade request, maybe because I volunteered to send my winter grades (4.0) to the office, right after the transcript was available. My winter quarter really saves me, because I only got 3.43 in my fall quarter. And I wish AO can see my rising trend. I was just rejected by Umichigan this morning, probably because of my limited transferable units. By the end of spring, I will get 53 quarter units (excluding my AP credits) and I really hope to hear good news from USC next month.
Is anyone else here a sophomore transfer???
WGR request was through both usc portal and email
@ForeverGymnast21 I am a sophomore transfer.
So if your from a quarter school and you did NOT get a WGR, what are the chances of getting a SGR?
Hey future Trojans! I hope everyone is staying calm and focusing on your current coursework as you wait for USC decisions to be released… I know that this is a stressful time for many of you, because I was in your shoes this time last year! I was admitted to Marshall as a Junior transfer for Fall 2014, and am now studying accounting at Leventhal. If I can answer any questions for you about my experience during the application process or my first year at USC, please let me know. Fight on!
thank you! and do you know when dornsife might be posting their admissions? @dmdwelle
@trnsfrstdnt This is purely speculative… but if this year is like last year, Dornsife will be the second school to begin releasing decisions (Marshall was first). I would start looking around the beginning of May.
