Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@samchoochiu @ForeverGymnast21 Yeah someone else told me that they never answer. I emailed my admissions counselor (Diana Moreno) on Monday and she still hasn’t emailed me back yet. Do you think she’s bothered by me? Really stressing out.

I noticed on last year’s thread that some Marshall applicants received SGRs May 15th and May 20th.

Hey guys, should I be concerned that a request for more information hasn’t been removed from my messages on YouSC? I uploaded the document 9 days ago, and emailed the admissions counselor if this was acceptable or if I needed to email it. She told me it was fine to upload it, but I guess I’m stressing that the message is still on YouSC. My best guess is that it hasn’t been reviewed yet.

@HappyLifeMachine What is your major?

@ajw14f @summertime123 same!

@HopeForMarshall when you applied for Marshall last year, did you receive a SGR and did you finish all your prerequisites before the spring semester? Thank you

Is getting a call from USC film production for a phone interview a positive, negative, or neutral indication of admittance into the program?

@orangeapple3 I’m not super experienced with it all, but I don’t see how that could be negative. I’d be at least happy to have an opportunity to add to my application.

You know what would be really nice, if we come home from school one day and find the gold package waiting for us at home by surprise lol.

@HelloFelloYello Computer Science so Viterbi. I know decisions for Viterbi are usually pretty late.

@orangeapple3 I would imagine that it’s a great sign!

How would we notify USC that we are taking a class in the summer? Or do we not have to? I’m planning on taking Calculus this summer but I’m not sure how I would tell them.

@Mick96 I think you should email your admission counselor or you could just call admissions and let them know.

@samchoochiu @Mick96 The fastest way to get in contact with your admissions counselor is e-mail but from my previous experience, leaving a voicemail usually leads to a callback within 2-3 days.

@weare1 @MisterBelt Sounds great, thanks you two!

I’m just wondering, but how important is it to let USC know that you’re taking courses over the summer? I’m a Marshall applicant and I plan to knock out my calculus requirement and accounting requirement as well, over the summer.

@pumalover34 i think you should call/email them ASAP since Marshall heavily weighs them into the decision. Its almost impossible to get in marshall without the calc requirement

@pumalover34 I called the admissions office back in January since all of the calculus classes at my CC were full and they told me to say that I will be taking it over the summer on my application and to email my admissions counselor about it because they are important classes

Has anyone’s counselor taken awhile to respond to them? I haven’t heard back from mine for a week.

Hey guys I just got my sgr last night and I’m worried b/c I dropped my calculus class last week. Do you guys think that I basically eliminated any chance I had in getting in?
