Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

I don’t understand why admission decisions aren’t released all near the same time like Freshman applications. It’s not like USC is doing rolling admission.

@samchoochiu It seems like USC is almost doing rolling admission in a sense.

So has Marshall started releasing decisions?

@Mick96 Pretty much haha, except that they had a deadline that was Feb 1

@sunita18 I don’t believe so. I haven’t receive any information or been SGRed. The wait is killing me too.

Hey guys, I’m a second year attending UC Riverside and I just got in contact with my admissions officer via phone (yes they pick up their phones!)

I was told you can take classes that fulfill the USC GE requirements over the summer though they would prefer if you took them at USC.

As for admission decisions for Marshall applicants, she said “near the beginning of June” is when we will begin to see SGR’s and admission notices.

Hope that helps!

The beginning of June?

The beginning of June???!? That is so far away from now :-/

I wouldn’t take what that counselor said too heavily. My counselor told me they weren’t looking at applications at all and then the next week or so, I got an admissions decision! I don’t know what’s up with them.

what…june?? But it wasnt near the begining of june for people last near…

@RAHforHEE are you a Marshall applicant?

I feel as if we need to tread lightly until we’re actually in the month of May. Supposedly that’s the timeframe when my friends who transferred from UCR to USC last year received their SGR’s.

@MisterBelt No, I am not a Marshall applicant.

Does anyone have a admissions counselor who doesn’t respond? Mine just does not seem like she like emails ha. Idk do you guys feel the lack of response show the lack of interest in a particular candidate? Kinda sucks. Mine don’t like writing me :frowning:

She only responded once to me

What questions do you ask her and how often do you try to contact her?

Any Dornsife applicants hear back?

Also, anyone wondering about rejections they generally come the very end of May, presumably like 25-30. Like that’s there mass rejection letter mail out dates. I know bc I one before, but there are also acceptances mixed in with the rejections during that time but very little. I agree with everyone saying most acceptances are coming in the next two three weeks. Good luck everyone! If I don’t get in I have new life goal and for those of you that may get rejected just remember that a school does not define your talent or passion

@bobisweird Do you know if the same holds true for Viterbi? From looking at last year’s thread, it seems like Viterbi admission decisions were really late leaning more towards May 20th and beyond.

Also about the counselor - mine has responded both times to me and was very friendly and helpful.

Wait so Marshall SGR’s won’t be given until June? So we won’t know if we are accepted until July?

@ForeverGymnast21

According to my knowledge - yes, that was the case for most UCR transfers last year. I don’t know if this applies to all schools but my friend who transferred from UC Irvine two years ago was also in the same situation; SGR in June and acceptance letter in July.
