@Mick96 ah alrighty! thanks!
@ForeverGymnast21 if you are currently taking the english requirement spring semester, I’m pretty sure you’re gna get a SGR because usc needs to see how you did in that class.
@beachbum0130 yeah that’s what I figured, good thing I have an A, they needed two semesters of English, 101 and 205, from my CC at least
@forevergymnast21 I’m a Sophmore transfer too not on TTP and haven’t heard anything back yet when you find out your decision let me know! Does anyone know if Sophmore transfers not on a TTP typically get accepted?
@ForeverGymnast21 @Mick96 thanks for the replies!
also, @ForeverGymnast21 what do you mean by taking 2 semesters of english? don’t we just need to complete the highest english course at our school that is equivalent to the writing requirement at usc?
@megamegss I was required to take a writing course and an English literature course to transfer. I am also not on TTP or any community college program that works with USC.
@sunita18 I will! And yes sophomores do get accepted even if not on the TTP
@megamegss at my CC you can’t place any higher that 101 so you have to take both 101 and 205, idk my CC is probably just weird haha I takes to a USC counselor about it and she told me I had to take both
@ForeverGymnast21 no at every CC you have to take 2 english courses to transfer anywhere, you can’t test out of it.
In General for everyone, the amount of Jr’s they accept and Sophomore’s they accept will vary, depending on how many slots they have.
is it okay if the ap english testing waives it out at your cc?
so i’m in a tight spot. my cc doesnt end until may 28th and so grades wont be posted until mid june. would i have a less of a chance on getting admitted since i have to send my SGR transcript around june 15th?
Hello guys! I have applied for the Film and Television Program within SCA. I got a call from a faculty member last week saying she liked my application and was sending it on to be reviewed. Is this common? Has anyone else received a phone call like this??? I’m totally stunned and shocked because USC is the #1 school for film and so I thought I had zero chance if getting in, plus the other schools I applied to that are less competitive have already denied me admission. I really don’t want to get my hopes up but don’t know what to think…
@trnsfrstdnt A) Why would grades be posted Mid-June, your CC should have them done the following week, if your CC takes that long to post grades, then that CC is a terrible college. B) Using a little common sense would tell you that no it won’t have any affect on your chances? If that was the case then why would they even accept applications from a bunch of CC’s that end in June? Come on man, it just means your going to get a reply later then other people…
thanks for your feedback and im just being paranoid hahaha…
Hi everyone!
I have been following this thread for quite some time now and finally have signed up to participate.
I am a biology major. I was accepted in UCLA, UCSD, UCD and Cal Poly SLO. Patiently waiting for my dream school, USC! I check the yousc page everyday but nothing changes
I talked to my friends who transferred to USC last year and they all heard at a different time. Some heard back beginning of May and some heard back May 30th. I really hope I hear back soon because I am so worried about the UC decision being due on June 1st
Quick question, do people recommend using chrome instead of safari when checking yousc portal?
@filmbuff24 Hi! I am film major who applied to SC too. Did they call you in for an interview?
@nguod94 not getting in to USC would sting, but trust me those other schools are just as great and you would be fine, you should be happy
Got an SGR
Im a freshman Marshall applicant from a private 4 year uni in Texas
@notphil what are your stats? And congrats! I hope you get accepted
@nguod94 i got into ucla, ucsd for biology too. And waiting for usc literally so depressed everyday I log into the usc portal. My friend told me she got into bio sci in usc in mid May.
@sunita18 Thank you!
3.4 UW hs gpa 3.6 W GPA
2200 SAT, 800 on math SAT2
3.86 First Semester at SMU
expecting 3.8ish for second semester
lots of EC’s and a couple internships in hs and college
very strong essays
Really nervous though! bc im still a freshman and my hs gpa wasnt great
Don’t worry my HS GPA wasn’t either and I’m not even on TTP but I finished the writing requirement and the math and have even completed calc 2 this semester so I feel like I’m somewhat competitive. I think you have pretty good chances especially since you got an SGR before many of us Marshall Sophmore applicants. How many units will you have done by this semester? @notphil
