@sunita18 I’ll have 29 units, i didnt take that many classes since I got my calc req out of the way with a 5 on Calc BC exam, and had a bunch of other AP credits, got my Writing Req done too with an A both semesters!
@notphil well that’s really good because they wanted 30 units to not look at HS records. Just keep working and I’m sure you’ll get it! I took 7 AP classes in high school but I didn’t get 4s on all which sucks now
Wait I’m a bit confused, how are people receiving SGR’s right now when it’s really late? Is it computer generated so they send it out at a specific time or something?
By late I mean 11:49pm late, which is the time I’m writing this post lol.
@Mick96 they didn’t get them this late, they just now posted it…
I’m confused!
Under check application status it doesn’t say anything required at this time, but I also noticed today that under “required documents” it states transcript needed from my college. It was not there yesterday under required documents, does this mean I have been asked for a SGR?
@notphil wait did you get it in your portal or in the mail
@Ellie64 have you sent them the transcript in the past or have they not received them? In the submit application documents, check if they have received your transcript in the past. They would have stated SGR, if was, so it’s likely they need your transcript for other reasons.
ok so i figured out why my portal changed. They want additional information about what I was doing during my off time. I have a gap in my educational history and they want a written explanation. good or bad thing? also its funny the letter they sent requesting this did not give any directions as to where to send this explanation… any ideas guys? possibly admitusc@usc.edu ? that is where the pdf says it came from.
@jasmine2468 no it was not for an interview. The lady just asked me some more questions like what kind of films I wanted to make and said she liked my application.
@MakeMilDolMove Thank you! I am very happy to have been accepted to all those schools. I am just so scared of attending a UC… I don’t think I can excel with so many students. I guess thats the hardest part coming from a CC… I am so used to smaller classroom sizes
@jamiethuy congrats! Ahhhh mid may is so close! I hope we find out before June 1st!
Just thought I would jump in and let everyone know that I received a SGR today and am now extremely nervous. It said they would mail me instructions on how to send my grades but I did not know if anyone else has already gotten a SGR or not. Is there some advice on what I should do now? I try to keep up with the forum but I miss things sometimes. Good luck to everyone, Thanks!
@msnow63 what’s your major?? Just keep your grades up and you will be fine! There are quite a few people who have gotten SGR’s
I have still not received anything. I feel really confident in my application, so I figure no news is good news.
I applied as an English major but I’m not totally sure what I’ll end up pursuing. I will be in my sophomore year if I’m accepted so there will be time to explore the possibility of another major.
@MedicMatt LOL that’s my motto too haha, no news = good news (hopefully) lol
When it comes to transferring, I honestly think it all boils down to what each individual student wants to major in. @msnow63 I got my SGR on Monday, but like I said , I think it depends on the different majors.
so does the hs transcript matter much if you have over 30 transferrable USC units?
@trnsferstudent USC doesn’t look at your high school performance if you have over 30 units.
Thanks! I guess they just need it for graduation purposes
They look at your high school transcripts but if you have over 30 transferable units then they won’t make any decision based on your high school records. They will focus on your college grades
