@uclabound1 Ha ha…so you have seen the light. Cut the cord. Don’t bRuin your life.
If this info can be useful to someone, my son has not received a package by mail and we are in SF bay area. However, his portal changed yesterday with the acceptance letter and presidential scholarship offer.
@cdcupcake - check your portal and email spam folder.
If you’ve received the email and/or know that you are not being considered for scholarships, what would the portal say on you.usc.edu?
Just an FYI, I spoke to admissions rep today and all Dean’s scholarships have been sent out. My S got the email saying he was not being considered For any scholarships, but would hear by April 1st of an admission decision. since the letter didn’t mention it, I wanted to see if he was accepted later on would it still be a possibility. Unfortunately it is not. Good luck everyone and crossing fingers everyone gets in to the school they want get into most!
Are the dates for the Trustee scholarship the same as for the other scholarships? (February 23-24 or 26-27) in other words, is everyone for each scholarship interviewed in their own individual dates, or are the 350 students who sign up first for the explore USC days the only ones being interviewed for all scholarships?
Also, of those going to explore USC, how many are going alone? I feel like it would be awkward if I’m the only one there without a parent.
@Homie253 I’m in the exact same situation as you. I mean, who knows if I’ll even get accepted or not, but if I do, there is no way I can attend unless there is some type of scholarship. It sucks to be in that limbo where you don’t receive financial aid but also can’t afford to pay the school’s full tuition
@11Premed11
The February dates are for the finalists for the Trustee Scholars. The finalists for Presidential (such as myself) are offered dates in early March (2-3, 5-6, 9-10 I believe)
And from one of the packets in my acceptance package it said that most of the attendees are there alone! But I’m guessing that’s partly because a lot of finalists are from California, whereas I’m from the Midwest.
Hope this helped.
Registration for the March dates is open (the link wasn’t working yesterday). I will be going with D and we are travelling from the east coast, but I am sure many will be there without a parent.
Does anyone know the latest one can go for an interview? I’m thinking about heading down to USC to do an interview. (not for the scholarships, just for the normal applications)
@Jimboboy I’m pretty sure those concluded in December.
@FriendlyNerd888 thanks so much. good luck to you going forward.
Hey guys! I applied late submission to USC because I thought my application submitted and traveled to rural India to come home to an unsubmitted application. I contacted admisisons and they said to still apply but it will be considered late. How much do you think this will hurt my chances?!
@Jimboboy interviews ran from
Aug. 1-Nov 26th.
Didn’t get any merit scholarships just got the email. Looks like I can cross USC off the list. If only it were cheaper.
CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT IN! I was reading through the stats thread, and y’all are some real talented people.
@soccergirl9897 I’m sure other people had issues and could need to apply late, not sure they can take them all or maybe they just want the app fee. But if they said apply all you can do is wait it out.
yes,the information for the scholarship was in the letter.
@CaliCash Yes, I am implying that I skipped a year.
@jbourne Thank you!!!
i’m going alone
@11Premed11 I’m going alone to the February 26-27 session! I’m an international & airfare is ridiculously expensive…
