@CollegeParent123 Did your children attend McCombs? Do you know the difference between the BHP & the BBA at McCombs?
@slparent I have one child currently in BHP and a HS senior who has been admitted to BHP. No experience with other programs. BHP is a major and BBA is the degree they and anyone in McCombs receive. BHP students will major in BHP plus other majors of their choice. McCombs students have their choice of majors as well.
@CollegeParent123 Thanks for your info.
@SLparent I had my interview for BHP yesterday. The conversation I had with the alumni lasted more than 30 min. It was great to answer/ask questions, and my responses were articulate and purposeful. Hopefully I get accepted soon!
@bizaucourant I’m rooting for you :)…awesome credentials!
Just a reminder - please post your admission decision and stats here - it’s very helpful to everyone else. I haven’t see many CS decisions yet this year. Thanks and good luck to everyone still waiting!

I think my acceptance shows UT looks past the numbers, my ACT wasn’t the best and my GPA could definitely be better, but my résumé and essays were very strong. Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard!
@BreadedPrincess- that’s crazy that you would think your ACT score and gpa are not good. I think this website gives people a complex. Your scores are great in my opinion.
If someone could please rate my chances, I would be so grateful! My nerves from waiting are killing me.

I still don’t know if I’ll attend, but it’s definitely one of my top 3 choices. Looking back, I should have spent more time on my essays rather than cramming all of them in one day. I was very, very relieved to see the “Congratulations!” on MyStatus win I logged in.

pretty much here to ask if anybody else got rejected with similar stats, I wasn’t planning to go anyways so I’m not too upset but with a 39% acceptance rate I can’t deny I’m surprised at the rejection. I had a horrible, scorched-earth relationship with my counselor though, so I want to know if his rec is the thing that got me screwed over, so I could prepare for damage control with my other apps lmao
I would not assume your rejection is due to your counselor recommendation. UT’s 39% acceptance rate is deceptive in that it includes auto-admits from Texas that comprise 75% of the class. Last year UT accepted a little over 15000 students out of nearly 40000 applicants. Assuming a similar yield between auto-admits and non auto-admits, 11,500 of those accepted were auto-admits. This implies an acceptance rate for non auto-admits of about 14%. If you check out other threads here you will find you are not alone in being rejected despite having outstanding qualifications. Given your qualifications I would expect you will receive better news in the future from you other college choices. Good luck.
