I’m also a VCCS student. At least the later decision date will help us not lose focus on our classes.

Does anyone know how heavily the transfer prerequisite requirements weigh on their decision? I have only completed/in the process of completing around 4 out of the 7 requirements.

Hey University of Wisconsin!! That’s my dad’s alma mater. And how many prereqs you should have depends entirely on what year you are transferring into. If you’re transferring into second year at UVA, then you don’t need to have all of the prereqs, but if you’re transferring in as a third-year, then you should have most if not all of them done. If you’re a strong student, it shouldn’t matter too much, but I imagine you will have to take those missing prereqs at UVA.

@UVaPlease

I still think it will be the 25th. Unlikely still means there is a chance. Looking at the past six years on the blog, all decisions were released on Fridays. Seems to be a tradition. Or I’m looking too much into this lol.

@Coleworld123

That’s the point, decisions are generally released the Friday before May 1st from my understanding, which is why it wasn’t just an arbitrary date, we were all pretty sure it was April 25th (vs April 26, 27, etc). But the fact that applications are up about 20 or 30 from last year makes sense that it would take a bit longer.

But yeah, there’s still a chance and my fingers are still crossed for it. I’ll be spam refreshing the blog, my email, and my SIS next Friday regardless, just don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work out :(

PS. Does anyone know if it can be a date that isn’t the Friday before May 1st? I think one year it was the Wednesday before, but considering that’s the day before May 1st it’s a little bit disappointing. Do you think it could be the Monday before May 1st or something?

I believe Tuesday is a date where they’ve released decisions before. They like Fridays because their offices are closed on Saturday, so they don’t have to answer a ton of phone calls and emails the day after.

@wahoo898 Thanks!!

Best of luck to everyone :)

I just logged in my SIS account and realized I can click “view decision” now. That freaked me out LOL. After clicking it, I saw it said the decision would be released on 1st May.

@Hins123 hahaha it sucks doesn’t it? I’ve managed to keep my mind off of it but for a while it was so distracting!

It’s making me so nervous to wait…I can barely focus on my classes! But if I want my GPA to stay as high as it is I really really really need to hunker down and get it done…HELP GUYS

I’m really hoping they release decisions this Friday.

@penelope31

Just hang in there, I know it’s hard having absolutely no control at this point but whatever happens is going to happen. It absolutely sucks but just try and distract yourself, we’re all in the same boat here and it’s absolutely miserable. The best you can do is just focus on stuff you have control over. (Granted, that hasn’t stopped me from obsessively checking everything relating to this transfer literally like 20+ times a day)

@wahoo898

You and me both

We can all agree they like Fridays. If the 25th is “unlikely”, May 2nd is the next option.

May 1st is the latest. It can’t be May 2nd because May 1st is some rule colleges have to follow.

hey guys! I wish you all best of luck in transferring to UVa, I am a current undergrad and I absolutely love it here! Feel free to email me about anything UVa related! This might be a little early, but my friend and I are looking for people to take our spots in one of the apartments offered by the school. The place is really really nice, and super close to the John Paul Jones Arena, literally walking distance away from basketball games! So hit me up if you’re interested!!

Yeah they 100% guarantee that decisions will be out by May 1st.

What are everyones stats if I may ask and what school?

Im trying to transfer from George Washington University.

Posted today on the transfer admissions blog:

Stay the Course
As we get closer to May 1, we wanted to wish you all good luck towards the end your semester. Classes will be ending soon and exams will be the final caps for this term for you. Keep those grades up, or work hard to improve your grades if there’s room to do so. It is extremely important for everyone to do this -no matter your admissions decision. As I’ve said in some comments, it is not looking like we’ll release this Friday, but we will be done by May 1.
