Official UVA Transfer Thread Fall 2010

Is there any difference between a green check and a green circle on SIS?

I was told no. They said people like to read into things like that before the decisions are posted. As long as you have a green circle or a check mark you are good to go. However, on decision day you should see the green check mark.

Is it worth sending in a letter telling them of summer programs I’ve been accepted to. If the summer program is a part of UVa, would they already know?

Does anyone know if there’s a transfer thread from last year so we can get a better idea of when they start notifying people?

I don’t think the dates would be the same but you can check here: [Transferring to UVA](<a href=“Transferring to UVA”>Transferring to UVA)

RVAfistcity- i wouldnt bother telling them, i would think if its with UVA they would know

do all students who are attempting to transfer receive the decision on may 1st, or is that when they simply begin letting some students know? I have other colleges breathing down my neck which shouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing but still, it gets annoying.

basically, may 1st at 5:00 pm, you can log onto SIS and see your decision. the letters will be sent out that day or maybe 1 day before, but you wont get it before may 1st. some schools release early but UVA does not. May 1st 5:00 pm. thats when you’ll find out

16 days!

UVa e-mailed me asking me to submit copies of my parents’ 1040s by May 13th, 2010. Does that mean anything at all?.. No, I’m guessing?..

Does anyone know if second semester grade affect decisions much for transfers? Can they reject me after accepting me?

Also, sorry for being a worrywort, but how are my chances for the school of engineering?

4.0 first semester of college at VCU
3.75 weighted GPA, 3.6 unweighted in high school (my school adds .5 per AP class), 8 AP classes total
Co-Pres of the environmental club back in high school
technical theater for three years in high school
SATs (aggregate of best scores): 800 crit reading, 780 math, 590 writing (but I got a 4 on the AP english test, strangely enough)
Vietnamese-American

Only about 2 weeks left!

re:1040s - I think Fin Aid would just want to have all your info. I’ve read previously that the award packages come out shortly after the decisions are released.

@ pinknebula:

I e-mailed them about it (I turned in the 1040s over a month ago), and they e-mailed me back saying it was an error…
Very prompt reply. I like.

2 more weeks!! Where else are you all waiting to hear from?

apparently i have a checked mark on my application, but my sat scores are still on the to do list. anyone else in this situation?

zdnomsed,

same here. But I am an international student and am not required to submit sat/act.

eriche, i thought that SAT scores were required for all transfers. so internationals are waived from submitting SATs?

yes, as long as you have TOEFL/IELTS.

@ nicolemae…regarding your question “UVa e-mailed me asking me to submit copies of my parents’ 1040s by May 13th, 2010. Does that mean anything at all?”

YES it DOES!!..it means that UVA wants copies of your parent’s 1040’s by May 13, 2010 !!

haha you are funny jomass

@jomass

you’re terrible. LOL I was just really nervous about my admission decision… and then UVA pops this random email out to me… hahah
