Ey Lil_Killer, is that a 1200 SAT on the new scale of 2400? If it is, then that's not so great, but if it's on the old one, then yeah seems pretty decent, with your GPA and all.

No. The 1200 is on m/v only.

For any of you wanting to know about waitlist or when they are gonna give decision, my mom works in the office of my high school and the one of the counslers gave her this message from one of the UW Admissions people.

Dear Colleages,

During the balance of this month, we will finalize our freshman admission decisions. This means that some of your students will receieve letters of admission in the near future. By the end of March and through the first days of April, other students will either receive invitations to the waitlist or deny letters. So 'heads up' -- some of your students may come by your offices to talk.

Students may ask you about the UW waitlist possibility and their eventual chances for admission. I am not sure how ot advise you on this matter since the last three years bear little resemblance to one another. Last year 465 students accepted our invitation to be on the waitlist and we were able to offer admission to 204 of them. In 2004, 701 students accepted our waitlist invitation and we were only able to admit 30 of them. Finally, in 2003 we had 506 on teh waitlist and admitted 472. If any of you have a good crystal ball, let me now.

i got into my backup school, western washington university, and i applied there March 1st and heard back on the 21st. that was a speedy application review. UW has had my stuff since Nov. 30th and i've been in full review since Jan. 11 and still havent heard back

Isn't UW easy for OOS applicants? College Board says 77% were OOS. Can anyone verify this?

uw is pretty hard for oos....70-90% are instate...dont remember the actual percentage

wow that's wrong

Perhaps they got the thing switched around with IS. Do you think I have a chance from NYC with a 3.74/1220, perhaps a little bit lower?

well, i'm probably not the most qualified person to tell you if you have a chance or not, especially since you're oos, but yeah, you definitely have a chance. your SAT score is practically the exact average score for UW, and your GPA would fall almost right on the average aswell. i'd say you have a decent chance.

Do you know their 75% SAT? I might be able to push it up a little bit by October.

Do SAT2's help now that UW reviews applicants hollistically? I have the whole summer. So I will probably have 3.74/1220/1800/7202C

i'm not sure about the 75%...you have all summer? are you a junior?

Yes I am a Junior.

Is it true that UW/any college accepts applicants with the highest stats in their pool? Is it possible that they can reject you if you are top 50% of their applicants?

i'm pretty sure they can do whatever they want now that they're using the holistic approach

In. Now just waiting for a few more schools.

I am sooo annoyed. I really am looking forward to attending U-Washington, but I still havent been looked at. I applied back in November, and it says all the documents are in check. The last time they looked at it was:

Your application for admission as a Freshman student to the University of Washington for autumn quarter 2006 was entered in our data base on November 30, 2005.

The status of your application was last updated on December 15, 2005.

The last input was my transcript on February 9, 2006.

I dont know whats wrong. I dont think I have such bad stats- A 1320 old sat- a 1900-2000 new one- With a 3.3 weighted gpa in competitive private school- Maybe its my gpa thats messing me up. But the sat score isn't that bad. I got some ec's under my belt, but nothing to great.

Im just really annoyed because I applied back in November. Is there anyone else out there waiting?

By the way, I am out of state- Georgia- So yeah. Anyone else waiting? Should I call? Bleh bleh bleh grrr.

Yea they have been in "the full review process" for me since Feb 9th.
My friend nathan got in today, he has a 3.34 with a good sat, tons of music, plus he's chinese.

Shouldn't my 3.48 unweighted with AP's and at 1650 get me in!?
ahhhh
If i dont hear back soon its off to western washington unversity

JSK; i am in the EXACT same boat as you (except i'm instate). I applied Dec.1 and my application hasn't been looked at yet, same GPA, 1390 SAT(old), ec's and all. Let's hope we get in soon.

I have a very interesting hobbie. I like to study blue prints of famous buildings, and I have created a scale model city on my own time. Should I mention this on the EC's section in the application? Should I send a few pieces of my drawings? Or can I leave that out.

Just got accepted, unoffical transcript, yahoooo
Goodluck to everyone else
heres my stats

3.47 Unweighted GPA
1100/1600 SAT
3 AP Classes
Lots of music awards, church activies, humanitarian aid trip

yeah, it wouldn't hurt.. makes you unique to whoever reads your application. if you're really worried about it, you should just spend the spring trying to get your SAT scores up.
