I was also put on the waitlist (also an OOS student). UW is my top choice, so I want to complete the form. I have a question. My school is on a block schedule and we take four different classes each semester (four classes during the first semester, and four different classes during the second semester). When filling out the Waitlist form, it asks to enter all my classes that I am taking for my senior year. I have the grades for my classes of the first semester, but do not have the grades for my second semester. Can anyone help me? Thank you.
Literally 1 minute after my last post I got an email offering a spot on the waitlist.

does anyone know when we’ll hear about financial aid? i’m an OOS student and have received merit based scholarships from every other school i got into. i really really want to go to UW, but only if I have enough money to go. I know they’re not too generous with OOS students on financial aid, but my FAFSA EFC is only 4k. so does anyone know when we’ll hear about either merit or need based aid??
My school is highly ranked in Colorado reports weighted GPA. In the last three years, according to Naviance, nobody above a 4.15 was ever rejected at my school. Unfortunately, I got rejected with a 4.22 weighted, 3.52 unweighted, 1370 SAT, and I had a lot of depth of EC’s, spent a ton of time on essays, had a very strong senior year curriculum, and had a pretty consistent grade trend. I have two IB diploma friends that worked their butts off who also have around a 3.5 unweighted that were also rejected. However, a friend with a 3.85 unweighted with nearly all regular classes got accepted.
It is pretty clear that admissions focused more on unweighted gpa more than course rigor or anything else this year, at least in my state, regardless of this advertised “holistic review”. This seems unfair for students who focused more on challenging themselves, and supports the argument that weighted GPA is a more accurate and quantitative factor in admissions. It’s also certainly gotten more selective. I am very angry at the admissions department, though I don’t want to rant too much. This was my dream school and I’m very disappointed, but at least I will save a lot of money in student loans and hopefully do well at CU Boulder. Congrats to everyone who got in!
Welp. UW is off my list as I got into pre-sciences. Already have better offers with direct admits into my major. Don’t like that UW does that.
I got waitlisted. Honestly a bit surprised, but I guess this year was a lot more difficult than I expected. Just got accepted to GAtech though, so I’m not too disheartened. I applied to the Civil Engineering major, have a 32 ACT, 3.82 unweighted GPA (4.4 weighted), 8APs (4 in STEM classes), and OOS. My essay was alright. UW wasn’t my first choice, so I wont be accepting place on WL. I encourage other people who were waitlisted but don’t care too much about going to UW to also not accept their waitlist spot. Happy for everyone who got accepted!
oh and if anyone has any info on merit based and what they give… i have a 5.6 weighted, 3.9 unweighted. all IB and AP classes for the past 4 years… TRASH SAT score of a 1280 and ACT of 32. i’m in 8 clubs, officer of 3 plus a part time job and sports. decent amount of community service.

Waitlisted. I’m heartbroken.
@periwinkle1923 congrats fellow business DA! I’m just confused at how I got DA because I never took calculus in high school but
sigh got waitlisted, did anyone else get that, i could use some help on how to complete form for it.
waitlisted. but it’s all good!!! everything will work out in the end
waitlisted…27 ACT 3.8 GPA and OOS. kinda surprised because I know people who got in with SAT scores less than 1100. whateverrrrr got into schools with a way lower acceptance rate ¯_(ツ)_/¯
My last name starts with a P, as well as two of my friends. None of us have heard back yet.
I got a 34 ACT, great ec’s and leadership, pretty good essays, OOS, 4.17 W gpa (but only 3.4 uw gpa), tons of ap’s, 800 math level 2 and got rejected so I feel you @socal777
@hellomynamejeff one thing is the website says that DA for non-engineering/cs majors are announced 1-2weeks after general admit, so this may not be final yet.
also do they mail rejection letters or is there a way I can request one lol
I got accepted! I’m OOS and honestly didn’t expect to get in, but congrats to everyone else who got in as well!
