I seem to hearing opposing standpoints about whether the packet will incude scholarship info or not. We need to know in order to travel across country or not.
@lilac9 I called the ooa and they said if you are getting $ it will be in the letter. We flew in form CA to see the campus and are here today to tour. I will ask again and see if there is different information because when we left yesterday there still wasn’t a letter in the mail. I called and tried to see if I could get info over the phone because I didn’t want to waste the time and money if there is no scholarship info but they still wouldn’t provide any details. That was at the point I got frustrated.
The day my D received the acceptance she got an email from UW asking for FAFSA verification, which involved filling out 2 forms. So there wasn’t any FA info in her acceptance letter but I am assuming they are working on her FA offer, if there is one.
Thanks @MLG2019. Enjoy the campus and give us any feedback of any spots to eat out.
@MLG2019, after checking the live cams in #906, it looks like you picked a nice weekend to visit! B-)
lilac9, the email my daughter received said that financial aid information would be mailed separately.
i submitted my appeal on monday when do u think i should hear back?? can anyone help me answer this
@uwlover267 It says that they will get back to you 1-4 weeks after you submit
I got in on March 8, but I still haven’t received my physical letter yet. I’m OOS btw
D also hasn’t received a physical letter (OOS). Has anyone on here??
Nope, still no letter. I looked at the 2022 pages and it looks like the letters were received this weekend through late March last year. Let’s hope they are sooner rather than later. I know several people are depending on this information in order to make plans for admitted students preview.
UW is high on my list, but financial aid is crucial
I didn’t get DA to CS, but one of my friends did. Since this thread is almost devoid of those magical creatures, I’ll post his rough stats here:
SAT: 1450 (almost perfect math, but lower reading – English is not native language)
GPA: 4.0 with “running start” program (two years high school, two years with HS + CC), with classes like engineering physics (more advanced than APPY2) and linear algebra. This is his most impressive component academically.
In-State
Not very many ECs, and not really CS related.
Essays have OK topics, but grammar/diction is abhorrent. Once again, he’s not a native English speaker.
Ethnicity: Nepalese. I think he was born in Nepal and moved to Seattle in the tail end of Elementary School.
Hate to be that guy, but I think his ethnicity got him in. He’s not as enthusiastic about CS as a few other kids from my school who got Pre-Sciences. But, on the other hand, his family did work really hard to get here and he is a smart guy, so he largely does deserve it.
