***Official UW Class of 2023 Decision Thread***

D got the acceptance letter today, no P/G scholarship. OOS, most likely will not attend UW because a better school gave her Good scholarship.

My D received her acceptance letter today (Norcal) and P&G scholarship of $4800 a year. Her stats are 3.85UW/4.25W and 33 ACT.

I got Purple& Gold Scholarship $6600 a year. My stats - Act 34 & Sat 1530 3;95 UW gpa

D19 received P&G scholarship of $6,000 per year. She is in engineering undeclared (applied CS) 3.92UW/3.62W 1500 SAT (800 Math) 800 Math 2 and 5 on APCalcBC (she likes math) and 12 AP classes. Lots of EC’s including MIT WTP, VP of a Math Service Organization, Co-Author Math Problem Book. Also Varsity Cheer Captain, Editor in Chief Yearbook, and most importantly all around good egg  I grew up in Bellevue and thought as an OOS UDub would be out of range financially but she wanted to apply. It still is a lot higher then the UC’s, but it is a little closer. It may be back on the discussion table…

Has anyone who was accepted OOS but didn’t get their direct to major still get P & G scholarship?

S received his acceptance package today with P&G scholarship of $6,000/year. Thank you Huskies!
OOS, admitted to Pre-Sciences (as we understand it you cannot go direct to major - applied mathematics) 3.95 UW GPA, 34 ACT, 800 Sat II, 740 Chem. Athletics and ECs and job related to major. And in accordance with @19parent ,
S is an all around good guy.

My dd received her PG offer of $3k. I was expecting more. SAT 1530, UW GPA 4.0, WGPA 4.65. Pre-science admit.

@octrojan My D has the same stats and only got $3K as well. We are so disappointed so we are really hoping she gets into Berkeley. I spoke with her counselor and he said U of W is notorious for bad or no scholarships. He said the school is top notch so they simply don’t have to give them out. So now if my D gets into Berkely and Cornell which one do you choose. The cost of U Of W is almost as much as Cornell.

@MLG2019 I’m wondering if being from CA had any impact? Anyhow, my d wouldn’t like Berkeley. She toured ucla and didn’t like the feel. I suspect Berkeley is similar. Since Cornell and Berkeley are likely much different places, maybe you should visit?

Similar stats to those who received varying amounts of P&G scholarship and I got $0. I was not admitted Direct to College (engineering) but still hope to attend. I wonder if those not admitted to their desired major aren’t considered likely to attend so they don’t offer them the P&G scholarship. There used to be a matrix of scholarship amounts and criteria on their website but it is no longer there.

@octrojan my college counselor once told me that it’s just a rumor, but she wouldn’t doubt it- her clients who’ve applied to UW (I’m in OC btw) are all either rejected or rarely ever are awarded P&G. Sadly I wasn’t awarded anything, but I’m madly in love with UW so my family is trying to work something out haha

My D received acceptance package yesterday with P&G scholarship of $7,500/year. OOS (SoCal) admitted to Pre-Sciences (she would like to major in Bio) 4.00 UW GPA, 1550 SAT, 800 Bio SAT, 770 Math 2 Subject Tests. National Merit Finalist. I’m a Husky Alum. Very strong ECs and leadership (started her own non-profit), President of multiple organizations, Concertmaster for two orchestras. So proud… waiting for the ivies and Stanford next week.

Since we are now in the window of Honors notification, let’s make sure to post if anyone hears about admission to the program.

Received P & G of 5000 per year with 3.89 gpa and 4.6 weighted as of fall of this year. She had lots of extra curricular and leadership roles, but I do not know if that plays into the decision. Visiting for accepted students day, but this is by far the most it will cost dollars wise.

Just thought I’d share our situation, we are OOS (Calif) and son was admitted Direct to College for Engineering Undeclared. Had a 4.0 UW/4.5 W, with a 33 ACT. Strong AP classes with mostly 4s and 5’s. Received $6.6k P&G scholarship. We toured the campus last week and was able to actually chat with engineering advisors for few minutes. Also, sat in on an engineering info session re: one of the programs within the college. Overall, very nice school and program, but our biggest concern is not getting guaranteed your choice of major. Advisor said most people get their 1st or 2nd choice once they apply for a specific program after their first year, but no guarantee. So, even with P&G dollars, we are looking at close to $200k all in for 4 years and not even sure he will get the degree he wants. That’s the biggest issue…Also admitted to Cal Poly for Mech Eng,and CU with Presidential + other Engineering Scholarship + Honors Engineering Program acceptance, and awaiting UCSB/UCLA this week. So, it looks like Seattle won’t be in the cards. Just one families story.

How do people get engineering undeclared when they didn’t apply to engineering?

Has anyone gotten anything back on honors??

@noah2425 My d is OC as well. UW is also her #1 at this point. We’ll have to see. She applied to two private schools of comparable ranking that gave her more $, and made the COA well-below UW.

@Yikesmcgee I just got an email today from UW saying that I got into the University Honors Program. There wasn’t anything on my portal indicating this info so I would check your email to see if you got something from them. Hope this helps!!

My D got an email from the UW Honors Program indicating she got in
