@Rohan328 I’m assuming she also sees it through the USPS mail scan service
@Rohan328 yeah USPS. It’s small enough that they scan it.
Oh, i can’t use that service cause I am an International student and I have to choose a state to register on USPS.
@Rohan328 I hope it comes soon for u!
My son received his acceptance letter in the mail today - we also live in So Cal Orange County area as well. He also received Purple and Gold scholarship as well :). FYI - letter is dated March 12 and the postmarked envelope date is March 15. So hopefully all those still waiting will get yours asap ?
My son received his acceptance letter by mail today. We live in Maryland.
GPA UW 4.0 , Weighted 4.83
SAT 1580
ACT 35
Asian Male OOS
@goalie35 Congrats. Can you also see the Purple and Gold info on the portal now that he has received it?
Thank You! And No - I looked online and searched and unfortunately it says nothing anywhere regarding the purple/gold ??
@goalie35 What were his stats?
Got the Acceptance snail mail letter today. No Purple/Gold and he’s “Pre-Sciences” but applied to CS with high stats.
The poster on previous page explains their priorities … lower stat kids with only moderate interest in CS that happen to fill a diversity bucket…but no real EC’s demonstrating CS interest.
For those of our kids who spent 4+ years self-teaching programming, doing paid jobs in programming, building computers, being leaders on Robotics teams, and having very high SAT scores…nope, not admitted to CS. No interest in “Pre-Sciences”.
D received her acceptance letter and P&G info in the mail today. We’re in Kentucky.
Sorry Forgot to put down his stats:
GPA: 4.0 UW / 4.8 W
ACT: 32
Applied Mathematics Major - Accepted pre-sciences major (there is no direct admit for his major)
Lots of ECs; NHS- and held board position for 2 years
Tons of community service and job thru all 4 years - all in math tutoring
His purple/gold was for $12000—$3000/year… I think that is the lower end of the scholarship offers. Not going to lie - was hoping for more. BUT - thankful for any amount - so not complaining ?
Others from OOS - please share if receive purple/gold…curious to know stats and scholarship ranges!!
Goodluck to all!!!
D received $6600 per year ($26,400 total). Her stats are:
GPA 3.9/4.7
ACT: 35
SAT: 1550 (800 math/770 bio subject tests)
Accepted as pre-major (I think she applied as undecided)
360 hour capstone research project, founded a club, NHS, SNHS, lots of other activities with leadership roles.
Excellent essays and what I assume to be great recs.
Let me know what I forgot!
What exactly does it say in the letter if you receive P&G?
@wheredoiwanttogo The first paragraph of the letter is the acceptance part. The second paragraph begins with “I have more good news…” and goes on to explain the amount of scholarship received.
my D19 is OOS and applied to CS. Got into Engineering Undeclared. I have read through some of the comments and it seems she was fortunate to get the direct to major but still don’t know how difficult it would be for her to get into CS from there. If anyone has an idea, we would appreciate comments. We are in SoCal and see we are getting our letter from UW today, but our delivery is very late (6pm). Hoping for Purple and Gold!
OOS from MN
3.98 UW GPA
32 ACT
Received Purple and Gold for 6k per year so 24k total

Received Purple & Gold today. $7,500 per year ($30K total). OOS. Congrats on people’s acceptances!
I have heard from a student that was accepted last year that U of W gave her in-state tuition after the first year. We are from CA. Did anyone else get this or know anything about it?
