@baser11 it took them 8 days to respond and they sent me an email saying that my appeal had been approved.
Have any of you guys taken the math placement tests yet? I know it’s too early but I had a couple of questions regarding it.
My son was accepted as a Direct Admit to CS major and he’s OOS.
Anyone get into CS DA on appeal? I.e. accepted to UW but not CS direct admission. Ive been waiting almost 4 weeks now for a response on the appeal.
@JohnDope maybe after May 1st?
@pdxtigermom Maybe, I hope not. They say it’s a 1-4 week turnaround on appeals so I’m hoping to hear back pretty soon. I’m thinking maybe I should email them though just to check.
@JohnDope yes, call them, email them, show your continuous interest. I think there are still spots for entering the program after a year.
@neurochic where do you go?
did anyone get gear from UW?
@MangoLover11223 Nope
@SeniorSzn do u know if they even give out gear?
@MangoLover11223 I don’t think they do, my sister went there and never received a gear on their behalf
Does anyone know when you need to appeal by?
Please think about what your statements about this person’s acceptance may say about you. He didn’t have perfect stats/ECs/whatever, but he got in. And 1450 is a darn good score, clearly within range of accepted candidates. The fact that he did so well on the SAT without English being a first language says a great deal about not only his intelligence but his ability to learn, and his drive. You really sold him short.
You attribute his acceptance to his ethnicity, and disparage that “advantage”(“hate to be that guy, but…”), and then grudgingly admit that maybe he did deserve it. What was the point of all that? First of all, plenty of kids without perfect everything get into UW-- like athletes who take up valuable spots in the class — how many of them actually graduate? Do you have a problem with that? Shouldn’t a state school, that all taxpayers fund, reflect its demographics to some extent? Would you like UW to be a school of all white people with 1550 SATs, and not be a microcosm of the state itself?
Diversity is both a means to an end and an end itself. We all benefit from being with and learning from different people, different socio-economic and ethnic groups, different realities and opinions. I hope you’ll reconsider how fluidly you denigrated someone’s intelligence, drive and character.
I’m very excited to say my daughter just got off the waitlist! She had been denied her appeal, and just heard today, even though we thought notifications were going out after the 15th. #she’s a Husky!!!
Woot woot same here, I’m officially a Husky!
My daughter just got off the wait list too! So Exciting. I’m just curious now about housing. Will it be guaranteed for them?
If I haven’t been admitted from the waitlist yet, is there hope?
Also admitted 5/13! OOS Undeclared…going to visit this week!
