If there were technical issues then a lot of us would have that problem since I know a lot of us had ours apps sent by the end of February

@erin11 when was your application complete?

I just want to know either yes or no so I can stop thinking about it. I’m pretty frustrated since I had my app in before others who already heard, and I know plenty feel the same way.

A few questions:
1.) Who on this forum has applied to Peabody College?
2.) Has anyone been admitted there yet?
3.) Does anyone think that it is somewhat “easier” and/or “less competitive” to be admitted into the Peabody College rather than the College of Arts and Science (CAS)?
4.) Does anyone think decisions will be released more frequently than a weekly basis as we near the “Closing Date?”

Thanks!

By the way, I also wanted to post because I wanted all to know that I am still highly anticipating my decision and so everyone knows that I did not forget about this forum!

@Boneyboy My application was completed March 13. On Friday, the on-call counselor told me that they are viewing applications based on when the application was completed. The earlier the application was completed, the sooner you get your decision. They make decisions on Wednesday and notify on Friday. They will continue to review applications until the last week of May.

@TransferFall14 When I called two weeks ago, someone told me that they are not accepting people based on the colleges that they applied too. They will only begin accepting people based on the colleges they applied too when the number of students in each college becomes unbalanced.

I applied to Peabody and I have not heard back yet.

Could some of the accepted students please tell which previous college they have attended?

@eifera13 Northeastern University in Boston

Could some of the accepted students clarify when they submitted their applications?

I am currently at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Bloomington. I sent in my application around March 1st I believe, and was accepted on April 5th.

I’m sure that some people applied earlier than I did, but to my knowledge, the same admissions counselor who looked at my application last year (applying as a freshman) looked at it this year. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with receiving a quick decision or not.

I hope this helps you guys.

the Wednesday/Friday worries me because about 3 Wednesdays ago my admissions counselor emailed me saying my school had messed something up and I had sent the fixed thing within the hour but I still haven’t heard

I submitted my application end of January and still haven’t heard anything! I’m sure it means rejected, but I’m hoping for waitlist at least.

Hey guys!! Little late to the party but i also applied CAS and haven’t heard anything back yet. I believe my application was complete early March.

My D’s application was completed in late March/early April, depending on whether they consider the second college rec as part of the package, attending a top 10 US News ranked school, and stats and grades, both high school and college, are outstanding. Hope this helps.

Based on what I’ve read on last year’s forum, I have a strong feeling that the process is totally random. Whether your decision was released three weeks ago or will be release in three weeks is a matter of chance. Sounds like they review applications a certain number at a time and select those to review based on chance.

Erghhhh, I want to hear back. :(

breathes

Is it a bad sign that I gave in my application in early January for transfer and I havent gotten a response yet?
Side Note: A week ago Vanderbilt contacted me saying one of the forms my school was supposed to fill out was not filled out so my dean emailed my counselor and gave the info and also I had to update my CSS profile so could this have played a role in the delay?

@numbchicken i am in the same position that happen to in regards to the dean sending it to the counselor now 3 weeks ago.

I am really upset, I have been crying all day. I finally received my financial aid package and there is NO way I can afford to go to Vandy with what little they gave me. I can’t believe I got into my dream school but I won’t be able to go because of money. Does anyone have any advice about other ways to get scholarship or more aid?
