@pizzapie7515 A lot of people will say that BC is a slightly better school than Villanova, but I’ve heard a lot of things that contradict that. I live in the Boston area, so I know a tonnn of BC grads, and many of them say that it’s really overrated. It really comes down to personal preference, honestly. I fell in love with Villanova when I visited the campus in April, but BC hasn’t really been the same experience for me. I have a bunch of friends at BC and I’ve visited them for sporting events (BC vs Clemson football where we sat in the student section) and it was absolutely insane, but overall I liked Villanova more.
I’d say that BC is a little more hyped up than what it actually is. Just me.
@willt31 thank you very much. I understand what you’re saying, the hype that Boston gets puts BC in the limelight, when Philadelphia also has a lot to offer…
@pizzapie7515 Villanova campus seems a bit more modern, while BCs is more gothic. Both have attractive studetn body. And BC meets 100% of need, if that matters to you. And in my opinion, Boston>Philly. Also, the Business school in BC is a bit better. I would go with BC!
@mariao: Don’t quote me on this, but I think I heard someone ask this question (literally heard - at an admissions session, not online), and I think they said you could call the admissions office and ask them to re-classify your application if it’s not “successful” for EA. They didn’t guarantee they would do it, but they said you could ask.
I visited last month. It’s definitely not as urban as BC and is mostly surrounded by other colleges with a few small shopping areas. They’re creating a huge new upperclassmen housing area which will likely be completed by the time we are seniors in college. It’s a very beautiful and nice campus, highly recommend it. It’s very close to a train station so you could easily travel to Philly or other Northeastern cities.
I’m pretty sure the decisions will come out today or tomorrow because my brother who goes there and has his last final today and since the offices will be closed soon they are probably going to send out the emails and then close the offices so no one can call in and complain about getting rejected.
Hey guys, just wanted to say that last year, decisions came out just after 6pm. So even if they aren’t out at 3, don’t give up on hope that it isn’t tonight… I’d say that if by 6:45 we haven’t heard, then we wait for tomorrow
I would not get your hopes up about decisions coming out today. My college counselor was on the board of admissions at Villanova and said that it will likely be tomorrow (12/20) at 3pm.
@coldinboston most likely an email saying you have a status change in your application, so you would check your portal once you got the email…
Decisions most likes won’t come out today
i don’t think its definitely confirmed yet. Last year my brother found out at 9 at night. It is only 3:30 they can still come out at 6 or 7. I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions or make assumptions
Wouldn’t they have said something on their Twitter at this point? Boston College gave updates on Twitter ahead of time but so far Nova hasn’t said anything on their main or admissions accounts.
@curb16 I feel like Boston College is probably unusual in that aspect, many colleges that I’ve followed do not update on social media when they release decisions.
In the last hour, the portal has changed a couple of times between having links to financial aid info on top and looking like it did previously with just Application Status. Perhaps, they are updating it now.
