Where is the box you check for getting put on the waitlist?

@sonicemi: Thanks for taking count.

I think for the most part, applicants from CC are on the higher end of the spectrum.
Seriously though? 32 waitlisted? Wow.

Anyone know how many people applied to Wash U this year?

@Xemnas: It should be under the Decision Notification tab… click on Wait List Response.

It is not there.

w t f?

does it matter when you accept the waitlist? i.e. are students who accept now given priority over students who accept april 30?

That’s odd. Haha - are you sure you were waitlisted?

E-mail your application processor. There’s a specific person you need to email according to your last name… I think. They will figure it out for you.

Nevermind. I logged out and logged back in, and then it was there.

@jackdaniels: Read the FAQ (link provided on the site) - but here’s an excerpt.

No one on the wait list has an actual rank. If space is available, we have to determine what “kind” of space it is. In other words, if we have too few engineers, the Admissions Committee will admit engineering applicants from the wait list. If we are under-enrolled in another area, we will seek wait list candidates with those interests. Unfortunately, we are unable to anticipate what type of space we will have, if any, until several weeks after May 1.

so the fast answer to my question would be no it’s doesnt matter when you accept?

Haha yes. It doesn’t matter when you accept, as long as its before May 1.

W T F

I clicked on the waitlist box and pressed submit. And then the page flashed. But then, it appeared as if it didn’t change. So I rechecked and clicked it, and did the same thing. I did this like three times. However, then I notice that the box change and it said something about me being placed on the waitlist.

Long story short - it now says "You have decided not to accept a place on the wait list. " and doesn’t show a box I can check to be placed on. W T F?

AHHHHHH ACCEPTED! I’m so stoked. I don’t know whether I’ll be able to attend, unfortunately, since I didn’t get offered any scholarships and my financial situation is quite tight, but I’m so relieved to have gotten in! Crossing my fingers that a good finaid package will come my way so that there may be a chance I can go. Even if I don’t get enough finaid, though, I’ve gotten into some great state schools and will hopefully have some other wonderful choices as well come April.

Congrats to all those who have been accepted!!! I’ll post my stats in the RD thread at a later time (i.e. when I’m not drowning in AP Bio work >.<).

suprise suprise…WAITLISTED

Kills my momentum after Cornell acceptance… =[

Orator, but your Cornell acceptance gives us all hope that this isn’t the end of the world. Maybe great news awaits on March 31st, in spite of this WashU news.

I got in!!! My first private school
But not sure I can go…its too far, cold and I doubt the parents would let me

^^^ Cold?!? That’s funny - I was thinking how warm it would be for my son coming from Maine!

How cold does it get?

D just found out she was accepted–first private school to hear from, by accident (she did not know it would be today, and was bookmarking the site).

Visited in late summer and interviewed, applied for scholarships but didn’t make cut. Stats: 33 ACT, 2110 SAT, 720 Math I, 740 Lit, NM Finalist, 4.19 GPA, 7 APs, all the other stuff you all have (violin, NHS, marching band, etc.). She did have an 800 on verbal and a 36 on ACT English. Otherwise, though, I am not seeing anything that puts her way off from those waitlisted or rejected. Maybe it is geographical? Perhaps they need more GA folks? Or perhaps it is just a crapshoot.

So, I log in to check, and it turns out at some point I “opted out” of receiving online updates and notifications or something. Man…I hate waiting for snail mail. This is the worst! I will probably get wait-listed though. people on cc have the best applications ever.
