let me counter your disclaimer with a … claimer? I go to WUStL and I’ve got a friend in admissions who says that they’re ‘hoping’ to get them out this week and will unless they are prevented.

@Masra91 and Quirindongo: Thanks! I’ll try not to get too excited/hyped up over it this week…

I won’t be in town or near a computer from March 11-14, so I really hope the decision is released on the 10th! I’m really nervous though!

No one from my school has ever applied to WashU… I did get a 2320 on my SAT, so I hope what people have said about preferring students with good scores has some truth. I was rejected from the medical scholars program a few weeks ago - I really was sort of bummed, but hopefully WashU will accept me in the end.

Good luck to everybody! ( :

Hi,
does anyone know if Wash U sends out their decisions by email or paper mail?

@Adriee: I think you check it online.

When I applied for the USP med scholars program, they sent me an email telling me that a decision has been made, and that I should log into my pathway account.

I assume the same will happen for regular decision results? Please correct me if I’m wrong - anybody.

I have heard that they don’t actually send you an e-mail, so people had to stalk the WUSTL pathway… Not sure, though. Also, were they posted around 5pm est or something?

To those who missed, we are assuming that the admission result will be posted on March 10th or 11th. the results will be posted on WUSTL pathway in the ‘inbox’ section. The time will be around 5pm est. Good luck everyone!

P.S: “We” as in CC nerds.

They won’t be sending you an e-mail as soon as they post the stats up. Therefore, we have to stalk the site around the time. Also, it might not be at 5PM because for ED it was 3PM when they posted it. And I live in the same time zone. >.>

You know…if they releases it today, my mom would be one happy birthday lady. :D

Masra91, if you hear ANYTHING, please update us. I’ll forever be in your debt. You seem to be aware and I think you might know in advance that they’re releasing it that day (just in case it’s not Wednesday).

Gosh it would be so nice if it was up today but I’m thinking it’ll probably later rather than earlier this year because of the increase in apps…

So ironically enough I’m actually writing this from admissions at WU. I can say that I wont know for certain but that the feel from talking to people is that it is very soon. My most sincere advise to you guys is just take a deep breath, go rent a season of your favorite TV show and pass the time, stressing isn’t going to help. Just about all of you are qualified and I don’t doubt that any of you could make it here. I know a lot of kids who didn’t get into WashU and love their second choices and “safety schools” and wouldn’t change for the world.

Good luck to all of you, and I can’t wait to see some of you around campus :)

Edit: last year they posted it I think at 5 but the servers clogged up. They also mail decisions the same day so for people like ocgirl92 who cant check the computer, when you get back home there very well might be a thick package from Brookings with your name on it :)

Thanks for the information. I feel a little better (and am actually currently watching the second season of Lost to pass the time). I’m still shaking though. I’ve only heard from two of my six schools so it’s nice to know that I should hear from another this week. I’m still so nervous though!

Thanks Masra! Please do tell us if you somehow do find out that the decisions are out =D

This is exciting. Does the finaid come with your letter (if you get accepted lol)?

Really nervous about these decisions…heard from a lot of people that Wash U rejects many applicants who get in to HYP because they think it’s their back up school.

Either way, if I get in, I’ll be ecstatic, but kind of bummed that they might not see me as HYP-worthy. On the other hand, if I’m waitlisted or something, it might mean they think I’ll get into HYP, but it also becomes another school I didn’t get into. haha

Here’s what you guys need to do to kill the time. Go on Chat Roulette.

lol, someone just said that WashU likes those with high SATs (because apparently it rejects applicants with low scores), and now we’re talking about WashU Tuft syndrome again… haha, my SAT better fall somewhere exactly in the middle!

hahahha i just called admissions to ask about financial aid information and the lady basically told me that it doesnt matter at this point because decisions are already made.

yup guys, expect a decision soon

haha jackdaniels…did you really want FA info or were you just trying to see what they said?

no i called to tell them i wont be needing FA anymore, bc i just discovered they’re not needblind. and this lady basically gave away that decisions were made. she sounded super awkward and kept telling me that it’s too late to change anything and kept asking “you know what i mean?” and then when i asked her if decisions are already made she said “well changing your status right now won’t effect a decision, if you know what i mean” LOL

and i’m pretty sure i didn’t get in because she looked up my info and said “well EVEN IF you are accepted, this doesnt effect you bc you forgot to turn in some FA paperwrok”

i think the ‘even if’ = you werent accepted

Don’t worry jackdaniels because I got the same answer when I e-mailed them about my financial aid. Let’s assume that they’re like that to everybody!

Looks like today isn’t the day. Here’s hoping for tomorrow!
