Same letter; off to Stern then.

I got my letter too. Williams it is !!

How did you get the letter, did you get an email telling you that there was an update to your UChicago account? Still waiting!

Yup. Update on Uchicago account

Son got the same letter. The funny thing is, he never accepted his place on the wait list. He just never replied once he was waitlisted. They’re probably sending updates to all the waitlisted students. So he’s off to Tufts.

did anybody get accepted at this time? with an email?

This is really depressing…to UCLA then

E-mail with link to letter. Boston U it is then.

Same here. I was excited because I thought the update meant I got in hahaha

Well off to Yale, but would have chosen to go to Chicago for physics.

sigh

Got my letter this morning too. Knew it was coming. Oxford it is.

Rejected as well. One waitlist down, three to go UChicago was the only one I didn’t send a letter to because the odds were just too dismally low for me (way to big of a waitlist). So I don’t feel too bad, but it doesn’t change the fact that rejection sucks. You all have great places to go haha I’m hoping I can pull off one of the three remaining chances I have left D:

Anyone else not get an email/letter? This is just so weird/cruel/arbitrary…waitlists, ugh.

^I haven’t gotten any notification either. What does that mean?

I guess we’re still in the running? Has anyone called and straight-up asked if they’re taking anyone off the waitlist, or what their yield is? If no one has, I’ll do it Monday.

I’m in the same position as you two! I wish that they would at least send a general letter explaining this years process, as it seems obvious that they do now know… I dont know what to make of the gap year offer either, im kinda torn on what to do if i get it. Anyone definitely accepting? And what would you do?

I have third-hand inside information that essentially confirms what the admissions officer told one of the posters upthread – yield this year was significantly higher than anyone thought it would be, and they are scrambling to figure out how to house everyone. There is little or no room to do anything with the waitlist except start to fill up next year’s class.

Yup, third and fourth year students are on lottery for housing…

Was wondering how are they going to calculate the 2017 admission rate if they start offering the waitlisted for 2017 admission and I am sure the yield on that is going to be pretty low.

Sad - got my rejection from the waitlist this morning…If offered, I would have jumped at the gap year option. Ah, well. Bryn Mawr it is.

Yeah, I guess we are still in the running! Cross your fingers! Do you think there is any chance that they will be taking people off for 2016, even though they have already offered admission to people for 2017?
