Official waitlisted thread

GPA: 4.9
Unweighted GPA: 4.0
ACT: 29 (probably what waitlisted me)

For the supplementary info I included an essay where I said UCLA had the major I wanted (Psychobio- the only UC that had it), and how I could contribute to specific organizations etc.

If anyone else needs info/help feel free to PM me! :)

** Note: Not all decisions have been made for students on the waitlist. **

Decisions will be made on a rolling basis throughout the month of May and will be posted here on our decision site. Please continue to check back. An email will also be sent to notify you once a decision has been made.

Does the “rolling basis” mean that they are just reviewing the students NOW on a first come, first serve basis? (meaning the earlier you opted into the waitlist, the better chances of getting in, which they should’ve said in the beginning so students could be aware) Because it also says that not all decisions have been made. It’s kind of misleading…

To be honest I was pretty surprised when I didn’t get in to UCLA, but even more surprised that they actually accepted me off the waitlist! I didn’t think they would end up needing to pull people. I got my email at 7:30 this morning, and although I’m already happily committed to Whitman College, it felt good to get one more acceptance in my sea of rejections this year! Good luck to the rest of you, it’s a good sign that they are pulling people off the list at all, so keep your hopes up!

Did you guys all get an email when decisions were posted?

Nah they cant do that… or else everyone would have opted in the first second.

Well that’s the thing, it’s misleading that they never said that the decisions would be on a rolling basis because if they did, then the students who took their time to write essays and such and opted in later would be at a big disadvantage.
I was thinking that students already had certain spots on the waitlist, but when I asked around, all the kids I asked who are already taken off the list had opted in very early, which leads me to think it’s the first come, first serve thing.

I opted in the last day, I don’t think its first come first serve…

I’m reading the stats of all the other people who were waitlisted, and I’m feeling hopeless. I was waitlisted with a 1990 SAT score and a 3.77 weighted GPA. :P

I’m checking my e-mail every 5 minutes hoping for a message, haha. Jeez, this is like March all over again.

Accepted! Gpa = 4.2, Sat = 2070, Sat II = 770, 670, 720 and loads of ECs

I got accepted! GPA=4.2, SAT=2140 SAT II=770, 780
I’m so happy…I wasn’t expecting this at all! especially the fact that I got the email at 6AM lol xD

Did everyone who has been accepted off the waitlist write an essay when they opted onto the waitlist? I believe my daughter only added her fall grades.

wwalrus I got accepted and I wrote a short (two paragraph) essay in addition to my grades

Did everybody get their email in the morning?

I just wrote my spring courses and fall grades.
stats: GPA 4.4, SAT 2210, subjects- italian 790, Lit 750, ACT 34

Got in off the waitlist aswell! Received email at 6:17 am this morning. Wrote an excellent appeal got good grades 1st semester senior year etc. etc. 4.15W 3.75 UW GPA 31 ACT. Will not be switching my SIR from SLO. Good luck everyone!

So do we have a good idea now of how many kids are on the list??

Has anyone got off the waitlist whos major is computer science?

My D was accepted yesterday. She has a 2310, 4.36 UC GPA. She added her grades from last term (all A’s) and talked about her work on the TEDX convention she did at her high school.

But she declined it. She is going to Berkeley, baby… (I’m a Cal Grad, so I love this decision.)

Demonios: Your message is full. I’m wishing and hoping for you. Fingers crossed. Keep the faith!

So are they usually sending these decisions out in the morning then or is kinda random?

If someone declines their waitlist acceptance, does that spot go to another person on the waitlist? Or does it disappear completely, thereby erasing that spot?
