when do we hear back from CAS? When should we receive the mail?

did the acceptances come in small envelopes or big pacakges? I only ranked CAS and Eng as my school choices, so are they going to send two separate decisions for each school or i'm admitted to both if accepted?

if you get rejected from your first choice, can you really be considered for your next choice?

ummm you apply to 1 school only. But, once you get there you arent really bound to a school, so it really doesnt matter what school you apply to.

but on the app, they let you list all 5 choices... if you're only considered by one school, why would they want you to list all of your choices?

i don't remember ever applying to one specific school but i do remember listing them in order of preference. anybody know?

Has any one else received one of these emails even though the school is still missing your senior year grades?

[ b]General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:[ b] yay! i didn't expect it but i'm relieved to find out... and the Multicultural Weekend offer is a sweet deal! I got it by priority mail in CA today (March 12th), and the letter says "I'm writing on behalf of Wash U to extend an early notice of your admission to Class of 2011." Just FYI...

nyjeff06, i sumhow got in without a midyear report. i'm either that stellar (which i can safely say i'm not), midyear's really aren't that important , or there was a goof up in the admissions office (which i hope wasn't the case either).

mich girl: I called my application processor and she said to fax over a copy but that it wouldnt have a bearing on the decision at this point, but she wanted it to make sure my grades were up to par.

skybluesk, which college did you apply to?

My daughter is away visiting Tulane and won't be back until tonight, so she hasn't opened her letter yet, but today my husband and I received a letter congratulating us on her acceptance to the School of Architecture and inviting her for an expenses-paid visit to the campus. I know her stats and so forth pretty well:

Grades
Rigor of program -- she is in Calc BC and 4 other APs right now, has taken 9 APs overall

She has been accepted to six of the six schools she has heard from and received 3 merit scholarships -- Tulane, University of Oregon and a Regents scholarship to UC Santa Barbara-- as well as Michigan, Cal Poly and now Wash U.

I hope the paid-for visit offer means some merit money might be available. She was not a finalist for the Fitzgibbon.

how are you all getting notification? through their website or by regular mail? or email?

It was snail mail.

email (10char)

were u an olin admit?

It seems that the olin admits get emails whereas CAS get snail mails..

in response to Orange123: it was CAS

shobhit2006, i'm olin. its kinda wierd to be indentifying myself by college instead of high school but its growing on me!

stupid question.. what exactly is snail mail?
