Official Wednesday PSAT Discussion

jrcho, i made a mistake earlier. it's the vocab in context from the historian passage. can you look it up?

I also got B for 38

Jrcho88, they probably told you to keep it because if you go to a different school, then they would not have easily been able to give you the booklet. As I said before, all the students at my school recieve the test booklet about a month down the road. For you, I suppose they just decided to let you keep it. Anyway, can you post any grid-ins not yet covered. Thanks.

billyum. here it is

In line 10, legitimate most nearly means

A) reputable
B) lawful
C) unerring
D) entitled (my guess..)
E) logical

hmm why did you choose entitled?

41 ^ A for that, none of the others make sense...

i think it is reputable. entitled is close though

jma, I am currently not home. When I get home, (if you want), I can scan and post the grid-in section.

Math kind of gets hard to type..

i chose reputable.

I put reputable for that one, but they are really close...

entitled and reputable are close? how so?

"to furnish with proper grounds for seeking or claiming something" (MW)

the answer is definitely reputable. 100%

Now that I look back, I would have chosen A, but I was running out of time + extremely nervous for some reason, so I guessed between A and D....

if i had more time, i'm positive i would have corrected myself on about 3-4 of my errors, damn SAT time constraints

That's cool. My school siezes them!

urgh...I don't remember the exact line, so I can't really tell you why, but I DO remember being at a fork in the road with those two on that question...

any other questionable ones?

i just dont think that entitled is precise enough, that's why the SAT is messed up, because some answers are just more correct than others

korey it is

However, in the struggle to be seen as "LEGITIMATE" academic disciplines, many of these programs have retreated from the community base that was their initial core and support.

the answer obviously is A
I hate both the SAT and the ACT time constraints

Let's go over some sentence completions! :_
