Yeah, that's the on-campus interview. That's what I thought.

Yeah that's what it was called. Is there really much of a difference, though? I mean, why interview you if you're not going to apply? It has to be pretty much the same, right?

Well, on-campus interviews are with Yale juniors and seniors. Alumni interviews are with alumni. They can offer totally different perspectives, and may take interest in different things about you.

Sounds good!

yay! i'm applying to yale scea too! kinda scared, kinda hopeful.. eek!! i really hope i get in. what an awesome school!! i live in the south, down in georgia. i'm worried cuz i've heard rumors that the admissions of really good schools don't really look at georgia schools b/c they suck, but oh welL! fingers crossed!

Those rumors are completely false. Yale understands the quality of the school system in Georgia and will act accordingly. They won't just NOT accept people from Georgia. They will, however, accept people who have used the resources that were available to them creatively, and effectively.

Those rumors are wrong.

Just think diversity. Yale accepts applicants from all states and countries. (We can't all just take from Choate ;))

Ugh. I had my interview yesterday and it wasn't that great - not because of the questions or my responses or anything, but because my interviewer was totally unresponsive. I've heard that student interviewers are a little more casual and are easier to spark a conversation with, but this guy just stared at me and asked questions. It ticked me off.

bleh, my interview is this week, but yay so does the journalism program at ydn, which im in. yay. lol

I don't know if I'm applying SCEA to Yale, but I will definitely be applying there and I'm CONSIDERING applying there early. Right now the school I apply to early is either Yale, Dartmouth, Stanford, Princeton, or Harvard (sorry guys, PLEASE DON'T YELL AT ME FOR THOSE!!). I'm a Hispanic girl from Texas (if anybody wants to be an amazing help and check out my stats on the what are my chances forum that would be spectacular...). Does anybody have anything to say to convince me that Yale is the best place for my SCEA/EA app?

Hi all. I'm applying SCEA from Seattle, WA. Everyone should also put down their prospective major(s). I'm economics/psychology.

Good luck to all. Hope to see you next fall as the class of 2010!

I'm thinking of political science or economics or philosophy or public policy...the list goes on.
By the way, turkey...if we are entering Yale next fall we'll be the class of 2011.

How about 2014? :p

This is the Yale class of 2011 SCEA thread.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to apply SCEA Yale..... still working on convincing the parents though (:( )
80% sure Yale SCEA.... 15%Wharton (UPenn) 5% Harvard

Asian female, suburban NY, undecided major

p.s. I'm a senior in hs...just never bothered to change the sn

theoneo... don't stress about your on campus interview. I don't think it counts even half as much as your alumni interview. If you thought your interviewer was unresponsive, last year mine YAWNED in my face. She explanied, sheepishly, she had been up all night writing a paper. Still not much consolation, haha. But look at me... I'll be moving up to New Haven in five days. :)

i've once yawned talking to rudy giuliani as a freshman, it was cool. doesn't mean i didn't like him

Hehe, thanks for the encouragement, filmxoxo17. It also probably didn't help that it was my first interview... but I'll definitely do my best to work on it by my alumni interview (which I'll hopefully get!).

I'm looking to major in environmental studies.
