@ via: Those schools are of a similar caliber, so it does somewhat indicate you have a good chance at Yale. But I wouldn’t assume that Yale will accept you just because of that.

How bad is a 2000 sat?

@Stars: I seee, pre-professional, eh? lol

^woah for a second there I thought 2000 was a perfect score.

Yale’s still my #1, but I’d be more than satisfied with Columbia. I’m a lot more calm about rejection now.

Yale’s still my #1, but I’d be almost satisfied with UCLA. I’m a lot more calm about rejection now. :)

Same here! Getting an early write from Williams really reduced my stress about other schools. Now I feel like it’ll just be interesting to see if I get in anywhere else.

So… is it actually physically possible to be accepted at Yale? Just wondering because I’ve NEVER seen anyone I know get accepted. I think for my school a total of 60 kids have applied in the past 4 years and not a single one has gotten in. 4 kids have gone to Harvard in this span…

Isn’t 2000 not very good tho?

2000 is terrible for non-hooked applicants (hooked used loosely here, meaning URM, 1st gen, low income, legacy, unusual circumstances, super major accomplishments, brahmin family)

^^It depends who you ask. It is tough to get into Yale with a 2000 without any hooks. You can, however, get into a lot of good schools with a 2000.

^ A 2000 SAT score is good for the average high school student, but is low for a Yale applicant.

Just 15 more days, 15 MORE DAYS

How poor do you have in order to be to be considered “low-income”? Mother worked (and still is working) two jobs, seven days a week, seventy hours a week, for the past nine years and I hold a 23 hr/week job to pay for bills as well. Total income is about 35k/year after paying taxes in April. I guess since I am Questbridge, I’m at least moderately poor. The question is, am I poor enough?

P.S. Yay, my lower income is finally paying off!
P.P.S. I wish there was a “su*k it” emoticon.

I wish I could say that my Chicago EA acceptance was making me less nervous for March 30th, but the excitement has managed to wear off over the last three months haha.

^I was content for about 15 minutes after hearing back from WashU. I loved the school and all, but it wasn’t enough to distract me from D-Day.

same here!!! i was really excited to hear from UCLA on friday…it’s one of my top choices. but i am so anxious about march 30 that ucla doesn’t really help! i am going to have to open 5 different decisions…definitely is D-day!

^I have no idea how I’m going to order/space out the 7 decisions I have. As anxious as I will be to view each one, I also want to absorb and process each decision. If I open them all in three minutes and get bad news, I will feel so defeated.

I just feel so sure that I won’t get into Yale that it isn’t taking up too much space in my head right now. I’m sure that will change in about a week or so, when all I will be able to focus on is “D-Day” inching ever closer…still, it will be nice when all of this is over and I can take time to appreciate the choices I actually HAVE.

I’ll only be receiving three decisions on March 30th, so hopefully that makes that day slightly less dramatic.

13 days 21 hours 34 minutes
