OH NO! i have a D in AP English!! :(

so i got a D for my second semester in english...

UC Irvine freshman contract says

You must: Receive a high school diploma or equivalency. Complete all senior-year courses as listed on your application.

Maintain at least a weighted 3.0 senior-year GPA in UC-approved courses.

The following situations may result in cancellation of your admission offer:
a) multiple D or F grades in your senior year A-G courses
b) taking less rigorous courses than reported on your
application
c) not maintaining UC Eligibility

i called the admissions and they said one D should be fine.
but what im worried is that english is a required course (need to pass 8 semesters). do i have a higher chance of getting
revoked?

the admissions/irvine counselor said it's too late to tell. they wont know for sure until they receive my transcript.

do you know anyone who was in my situation (D in english) and still get to go to irvine?

Are you going to graduate from high school? At my HS you had to pass 4 years of English. I think that should be your primary concern.

If it’s not a Fail, then it’s a pass? aka if it’s not an F I think it should be fine.

D is for dinosaurs, not fail! You’ll be fine. Even though it’s a required course, it’s just one D. The admissions people will definitely understand - well, at least if you have a decent GPA~

A D in an AP class is a C in a regular class

Actually, a D does not get the extra point from AP classes. A C and higher does. D is still considered pass though.

Just came from UCI early SPOP exempt orientation for freshman. They have 900 too many freshmen then they were planning on. They are really tight on all the due dates, and requirements. Counselor explained that admission is looking for every possible reason to lower the numbers for incoming students. Maybe if your major is less impacted then others you will be lucky.
So sorry… :-(
