Oh Noes! A "B"!

Yep, I just got back my chem final and I did, er poorly, so I got a B for the second semester. I have nothing else but A's, so my new gpa is 3.967, 3.973 if I get all A's from now on.

My Question: Will this make a difference for getting in Washington University, Cornell, or Harvard? SAT 1 scores: CR 800, Math 790, Writing 740. On the Math 2 Subject test i got 790. Havn't gotten my physics and lit SAT2 back yet.

While I’m at it, what are my odds with those scores? I'm kinda weak in extracurricular, mainly running my own (successful) business and playing guitar. I have no AP courses (small school, they just added them this, my senior, year) but I have ~6 "Gifted" (same as honors) courses.

I am 99% sure this B means precisely nothing, but I'm want some outside opinions!

Thanks

you should be 100% sure, because one B is not going to hurt you much.

Agreed...1 B will not be a big deal...I will also be getting my first B in Calc BC so I am in the same boat. Don't worry about it...if you have above a 3.8 UW and are applying to those top schools, they look more at course schedule, ECs, class rank, essays etc...
