Ohio State- Deferred or Waitlisted and MSP Qualifications

Hi,
I am an out of state senior. I applied EA and I have an ACT of 29 and a weighted GPA of 4.117 (unweighted around 3.8-4.0). I’ve taken multiple APs my junior and senior year and I applied to OSU under Biomedical Engineering.

I recently logged into my appstatus portal and found this under my application status:
“After an initial evaluation, your application has been referred for second review. A final decision will be made by the end of March. You will receive further information by mail.”

Does this mean I have been deferred or waitlisted? And even then, is there a difference between the two? Also, based on the response I received, does this mean I will not be considered for the Morrills Diversity Scholarship?

@anfar12 You were deferred. OSU seems to care very much about their yield rate this year (percentage of accepted students) which effects their ranking. If you are seriously interested in OSU, I would suggest immediately writing to your admissions counselor and letting him/her know that OSU is your first choice.
