Before i was 0% ucdavis… now it’s at 20%… Give me some reasons to go to UC DAVIS! I live in SoCal. Bring a car? lol…
Also i’m a Chemical engineering major right now…can i change my major online?

What are the reasons that made you go from 0% to 20%? Then people can give you the "other" reasons!

It's far from home.. ? ahha.. 7 hour drive.. Considering moving further away. Irvine might be too close.. 40 min drive..

higher ranking? =).. not by much though

eh yea.. tell me about Davis's Campus life.. How are the asian chicks there! haha.. o.O Dorms? singles, doubles, triples? coed dorms~? Environment.. etc..~~ do anything to convince me to go to UCD! haah

all i can say is that irvine is a commuter school while davis has more of a college community feel. i don't go to ucd, but i live in davis and have friends at ucd. also, in norcal, i think ucd > irvine in terms of prestige. from my hs, 1 person went to irvine and about 60 went to davis, because, well, we live in davis, but irvine isn't high on anyone's list here. it's kind of a "if you have no choice" or "they give you a scholarship you can't turn down."

How would you change your major. That's something I'd like to know.

That's funny because that's the attitude everyone has about Davis at my HS and I live in SoCal. Around here UCI > UCD for most, which is why I wanted to learn more about Davis. ;) I found Irvine incredibly clean (although I visited over the summer), but I haven't decided if I'd really like it there. I haven't seen Davis yet, but I'm planning to soon. The more I hear about Davis, though, the more I really like it.

I've been to UCI as well...Irvine in general is clean (I live about 15min away from it) and while not as remotely located as Davis, it's still in my opinion, fairly boring/normal.

Though a bit of an assumption, I think it's safe to say UCI has better asian food (considering a good 50%+ of the population is asian). So I guess that's an added plus in some way xD

Irvine was voted one of the top safest cities, wasn't it? I think that's what the student tour guide told me when I visited. I don't really like that it's a commuter school, though.

Lol not sure about the Asian food, but probably. XD

how are the guys like at UC Davis? ;]

Yes, the reason WHY there's less accidents is that a good half of irvine is still in development and theres a lot of open land :D

Lol that's interesting, I didn't see a lot of development when I drove around.

@Chocolatecake: I dunno lol but I heard the girls are pretty attractive so one could assume the guys are...

Really? There are always houses and strip malls being built pretty much everywhere :S I guess near UCI it is pretty urban though...

Well I kinda drove around Irvine, but I mainly stayed on campus. I guess I didn't pay too much attention to anything else. ^^; I just got really excited when I saw a dance studio in the shopping center across UCI lol.

lol...Yea they have a lot of cultural advocacy in Irvine, as well as mountains of tutor/SAT prep places <.< Maybe it's the Asian population again? xD

i facing pretty much the same choice...i live in Socal and everyone here is all for UCIrvine(when i applied it was my first choice) now i'm not so sure cause Davis keeps on looking better...i'm confused on what to do to..lol

Cmon...Do you seriously want to stay near your friends, family, and anyone you hold dear to you?! lol.

Go out and explore new environments!

Lol are there really that many Asians at UCI? XD Oh well, I'm Asian so maybe it's better for me to go to Davis. My friend was telling me about KabaModern at UCI lol.

As for the whole Davis vs. Irvine thing, people have said that Irvine is kinda socially dead. Apparently, you have to find your own way to have fun at Davis though (some have said it's boring) but I think if you're involved in sports/activities/clubs on campus, it shouldn't be so boring. I like that Davis is pretty environmentally friendly too. :]

That's actually a big part of the reason why I chose to go to Davis. I wanted to see new things, live in a different place, interact with a different kind of people. The materialism and fakeness of SoCal can really wear on you after 18 years...
