Heh, lucky me I never was absorbed into the SoCal materialism, I see it all around me though :)

Yes, it's true that there are so many, Edible. I myself being one as well...I still find it disturbing how much there are <.< which is why I live far enough so that I don't compete with them in high school, but also close enough to eat their delicious food :D

@Bandislife: I agree. I still think it's weird to see an orange girl with bleached hair walking around my high school because she visited the tanning salon over the weekend.
@Weirdhobo: Haha nice. My dad is Japanese, so I get a lot of Asian food at home. No meal is complete without rice. XD But seriously, the community at Davis is more appealing to me than that of Irvine. I guess I'm biased now though because I'm really frustrated with the UCI adcom since I haven't heard from them yet.

Speaking of rice...I can't go three days without it lol... Hope there's a lot of it at Davis!

Three days? Lol you don't get sick of it? What kinds of food do they have in Davis anyway?

Yea...I actually tried to eat only American/and Mexican food for a bit...and I went crazy lol.

I saw that Davis had sushi, so I become extremely relieved :D ty our lord for sushi~... oh and the Japanese :P

A few reasons (some irrational some not so much)
-I'm from SoCal and would like to experience Norcal
-UCI has waaaaaay too many Asians for me (I'm Chinese but I don't want to feel like I'm in China at UCI)
-Davis is the largest out of all the UC campuses
-solid in a lot of sciences (as good or if not better than UCI)
-UC Davis has a Division I sports program. I want to experience college athletics! (They recently completed their new Aggie Stadium last spring)
-I'm getting quite a hefty amount of Financial Aid.
- 59% Female, 41% Male (hahaha, not really a reason but you catch my drift)
-I'll be part of the centennial (100th) class!

Those are SOME of my reasons I want to go to Davis.

University of Chinese Immigrants

There I said it~

wow really? 59% huh?

Really? I like my potatoes lol. Oh well, people have said that cafeteria food gets boring after awhile, which is to be expected, but Irvine seems to have a greater selection of food off-campus than Davis.

Lol sushi is good. Although my dad thinks I'm adopted sometimes because I don't like wasabi. x:

Mmm, yes you may be adopted if you don't like it xD

And yes, from the looks of the restaurants in Davis, Irvine is like a slap to its face :P Nonetheless! I would rather go to Davis!

@Weird: Haha thanks. I guess they found me under a bridge after all.

Thanks collegemom for the link. :] Are people frequently scammed when it comes to dining in restaurants? o.o;

What do you mean by scammed?

"you might consider taking a look at our Consumer Guide to watch out for possible scams commonly seen around town."

Copied & pasted from that wiki article.

Gotta love the wiki, they do seem to cover everything. Not that I know of and I've eaten at many places in Davis. My d has never complained either. It is some great general advice on what to watch for though.

Any UCD students know of any scamming going on?

Lol all right, that's reassuring. I was afraid that being scammed was something that occurred often. The article did say "commonly" so...

Yes it does, but reading the article there seems to be only general advice and no examples of actual problems or places to avoid, hmmmn. Also interestingly there are no comments. That is unusual to see on the wiki. I'm guessing if such problems were common there would be lots of stories, but who knows...

LOL that's great. Cow tipping reminds me of the Disney movie Cars.

Haha that's so great. That reminds me of this game my AP stats teacher made us play to gage our reaction times. We had to tranquilize sheep...o.0
