One in Honors Geo, and one in Honors Bio. I just slacked off, honestly. It was a big mistake, will this really affect my chances for like UC berkeley? Because, my parents once they see it are gonnnaa freak.
I'm in red cross, AWS, and key club.
I work every summer, volunteer, and attend french tutorials & do varsity golf.
I'm scared my parents will freaaak. :(
IDK what happend, either i'll get 1 B or 2. I'm not sure. WAAA

you should be strictly looking at community colleges now.

Yea maybe you should try a cc then transfer into a local college. Cut losses

I don’t think UC Berkeley will consider your freshman year grades. The UC system will recalculate your GPA to only include “a-g” courses taken during your sophomore year and junior year.

seriously, 2 b’s means community college :(

^^ Are you guys being serious with the kid? lolol.

What matters is your GPA overall. They won’t look at your individual grades for EVERY class you’ve ever taken.

Oh, if it makes you feel better, I have a Senior friend who got into Columbia this year. His UW GPA was 3.90, and he got a couple of B’s through his High School career. Just do better Sophomore year (:

^Stop giving him false hope… His life is over

It’s not false hope… so yeah…

I knew they were kidding, ha funny guys.

Community college? Guys, I know you’re trying to be nice, but it’s better not to deceive the poor OP.

OP: No college for you. What were you thinking?

Good news for the OP, freshman year is the least important year when they look at your transcript (schools like Princeton don’t even look at freshman grades). You’re class rank will be hit and cumulative gpa over the years, but if you can improve and produce a better looking transcript in the following years, you can, for a large part, neutralize the “bad” freshman year.

omg, really. Freshmen year was a huge mistake (: yaaay. I do overall have a 4.3 freshman year. Can i still get in an ivy ?

Yes. Be happy. Stop being worried.

it’s just my dad will make a huge deal about it, i’ll be grounded till like school starts again, hahaha

valeryykira, breath… UC Berkeley is one of the few colleges along with Princeton that don’t even look at freshman year. Don’t worry! Just keep in mind, high school will probably get harder, so no more slacking.

No one’s perfect and there’s no such thing as a college that requires all A’s all four years of high school for admission.

I found it kind of funny how you guys were able to rattle the OP by playing the community college card hahahah.

Only a 4.3… Yikes!..

Berkeley will probably be a high reach now, but as Martin Luther King Jr. once said…

“Never give up… Trust your instincts!”

In all likelihood though, it’s probably going to mean UC Riverside for you.

Don’t listen to these trolls haha. You’ll be fine! Just keep yourself level headed and have a solid extra curricular base and good test scores!
