Okay trying to transfer to Virginia Tech, question

I have been out of high school for 12 years now. I actually got my GED because I dropped out. I did terrible, really terrible in high school. A lot of D's and F's.

I have 60+ credits at a community college and carry a 3.64 GPA now. I do have to complete my science classes this summer, and I did put that on the application. I have completed 3 Eng. classes though, both of my history classes, both accounting classes, both econ classes, Pre-Calc 1 and 2, a psyc class, 2 business classes, speech, and some computer and networking classes.

Do you think I have a good shot to get into VA Tech for business? Will doing so terrible in high school effect me this long after? I did have to send a copy of my high school transcript. During the personal statement I did address the fact, and what I have accomplished since learning that lesson.

Let me know guys. Thanks

I know of a couple "non traditional" students that are in the same boat you are. From what I can tell, it doesn't seem to be a huge deal. Admissions committees understand you're a different person than you were 12 years ago. You're obviously showing that you know your errors, and are even forthcoming and honest about it. Although I can't give you your "chances" into getting into Vtech, I would say it's not really going to hurt you.

An thanks for the reply. I appreciate it, and I will keep my fingers crossed!!
