<p>The JERRY passage from section 8 raped me in the butt. OMG. I looked everywhere for similar threads, but could not find any explanations for number 14 and 17 on page 421. </p>
<p>For 14, how would you come across the answer. I kind of get why it is D, but why cant it be </p>
<p>A: is it because it has outright mistrust (too strong of a word)
C: he was insecure by "expecting something crude and then turned despondent when he said it made no difference in their acceptance in line 40. </p>
<p>For 17, the answer is B.</p>
<p>But Why cant it be uneasy: he came to an vague conclusion after hopelessy trying to figure them out.</p>
<p>And what the heck is the impatient and eager: They both are synonyms of anxious.</p>
