HisGrace, LOL Trust me, its not considered breaking the rules if the teachers don't give a damn. Mind you, My school is still strict in every other aspect but still. The teachers really favor the way you carry yourself. I mean think about it, we're all concious about how we dress no matter what.

You wouldn't go to school wearing promiscuous and revealing clothing would you? yuo'd get kicked out in a flash right? (I geuss if thats how your school works)

"hey you're a guy, if you don't like the uniform, wear a t-shirt and shorts, jeans if it's too cold, and get a mohawk or something..."

^Not necessary...If thats not among the options I listed, don't recommend it

There's a difference between the way you dress and the way you carry yourself.

You can still be confident in uniform.

And oh, trust me...the girls at my school still manage to dress promiscuously and in uniform.

Mohawks are cool to me......not the ones where its shaved at the side though. Those are weird...LOL

Haha... so get a mohawk. :)

And, HisGraceFillsMe, same at my school.

the mohawk would go well with all the options you listed anyways...and wear heels, like alamode recommended (kidding)

off topic: what's a squirrel monkey?

SM, I'm a City Person but then again I'm not.....Mohawks are too Manhattan-ish...lol

"off topic: what's a squirrel monkey?"

a monkey that looks like a squirrel or a squirrel that looks like a monkey

i wish my old private school was like yours.

someone wearing non-uniform shoes had the equivalent reaction of a bomb threat.

just be sure that your school didn't update it's policies. i've heard of plenty of private schools that start to slack off on rules, then one year they get super strict again.

but if ya wanna be different... go be different. have fun!

Exactly. It's like a Liger.

Anyways...I still say you should wear the uniform, because if they really didn't care they'd get rid of it.

does that even matter? how bout a mullet? that'd be stupid I suppose....if you can't tell I'm trying to do anything but what I'm supposed to do...

"someone wearing non-uniform shoes had the equivalent reaction of a bomb threat."

-Haha LMao0o0o0 That made me actually laugh

"Anyways...I still say you should wear the uniform, because if they really didn't care they'd get rid of it."

-Think about it, How would a school look if they expunged they're uniform. They'll have a weak rep

EverLane, whats a mullet?

What is it with you and reputations?

There is a school in our district that is the only one that doesn't have uniform, and no one looks at them any differently.

And just think about it: Who cares about reputations? Like I said earlier, you most likely won't even know these people in 10 years.

mullet=short in front and long in back.

a haircut that looks really bad, like REALLY bad

XD yes, that's a good explanation too.

It's like...when girls wear their hair halfway up, only people with mullets look that way all the time and it looks WAY bad. I've never seen anyone successfully pull off a mullet.

If a mullet is a bad haircut then you can never successfully pull it off. Its always bad!

HisGrace, This is the first post I mentioned about reputations so I don't know why you're making it look like thats the center of my topic. Secondly, I'm not saying that if the school lacks uniform they'll be looked down upon. I'm saying if the school has to get rid of there uniform because kids failed to wear them then obviously parents will deter their kids from enrolling there?

Get what I mean?....I doubt it

reputation=impression, kinda anyways, hey! I wear my hair half up sometimes

I'm making it seem that way because you're putting way too much emphasis on what your peers/your teachers/whatever think of you.

All I'm saying is that at the end of the day, all that will matter is how you did on that big Midterm. Not what you were wearing while you were taking it.

As far as the whole parents deterring their kids thing goes, I don't know if I agree. Maybe it's different there, but not many parents here care what the school's dress policy is. In fact, a lot of parents look down on uniform here because they pretty much have to buy their kid a second wardrobe.

XD that wasn't what I meant EverLane. I wear min half up a LOT, and I think it looks really nice. But that's just how I describe a mullet. And like I said, a mullet is about a million times WORSE. Almost any girl with decent hair can pull off the half-up look.

is "half up" supposed to be the opposite of a "bang" or something?

OMG HisGrace, I never mentioned anything about the way my peers think. It was just a simple question. Which would you rather prefer until some certain posters decided to go in depth in why ?

The whole uniform thing is to keep kids from getting jealous of what someone else is wearing! Thats why if you buy uniform you don't have to worry about bugging your parents for new clothing to wear. and trust me, kids are bound to ask for new clothing. Its not just me that do it! So if everybody is wearing uniform, then you don't have to soend money on new clothes on a daily basis and kids won't get envious over what someone else is wearing

it's when you take a little hair from each side and tie it behind like a ponytail, so halfup is like a half a ponytail with the other half going straight but most people usually have less than half up...I suppose you haven't decided your hairstyle for the first day either

I'm a male!....genius! LOL

..........with a dark caesar hair style. Theres no decision to worry about!
