I like your choice of photo lol, I'm going to side with so authentic on this one...appearance, impression, reputation, whatever, matters A LOT

but won't hurt to dye your hair blonde, get a tan, and add couple hundred lbs, it'll really make an impression you know lol :P

LOL.

Hm. Maybe it's just different here..no one really cares how others dress (to some extent, obviously if you dress like you just don't care that others have to look at you then you're not going to be looked upon very well).

Most people at my schools tries VERY hard to get people to look at them, which is why I'm sick of these kind of people

Ahhh.

Yeah, everyone here just kind of chills with their group and we just let everyone be (for the most part).

big city school > small rural school, agree completely, I had nothing against small towns until I moved into one, you have to be here to believe how different a culture it is...anyways this thread is going...nowhere?

Yeah, it is. :)

lol yeah, I can imagine. I loooove going to a huge school.

The whole uniform thing is to keep kids from getting jealous of what someone else is wearing
[/quote]

that's the purpose, yup, but never ever works. when i went to private school with uniforms and everything, the emphasis was not on clothes, but on purses, the only non-uniform accessory allowed. every month had a new "must-have" designer purse. i, of course, didn't give in to the trend, because i was not about to waste a whole day to go down to the city to waste $300 on a purse i would use at most 20 times.

if anything, uniforms make people even more jealous of the accessories.

god, i love my new quaker school...

hehe i love how this thread became 5 pages long.....

Yes, this thread is pretty amusing...

"that's the purpose, yup, but never ever works. when i went to private school with uniforms and everything, the emphasis was not on clothes, but on purses, the only non-uniform accessory allowed. every month had a new "must-have" designer purse."

Exactly this is why I think the whole uniform thing is fruitless! If you are supposed to wear black shoes to school, the kids in my school will not only wear black shoes but makes sure its PRADA!!!!!!.....The blue shirts....OMG! The Lacoste whores we have in our school is ridiculous. Overall, uniform doesn't do anything to stop the jealousy and fashion whores...

Uniforms are like Communism. They look great on paper, but they never work.

HAHAHA that was funny.
i should use that line vice versa when arguing with my communist friend

but seriously, i'm a girl, i love clothes, but it's ridiculous to overplan on what you're going to wear for school. most mornings im too exhausted to give a crap, and make sure I don't look retarded. neatness, comfiness, and matched is all I need

Even on the first day, I plan the night before. Max of fifteen minutes (if it takes more, you either lead a poor life or you need to donate half your wardrobe to the poor). You don't want to look TOO dressed up on the first day, just makes you look....i dont know, overly anxious and insecure

my school is the opposite of a school with uniforms
i posted this on some other thread about polos...
my guy friends have to be forced into anthing besides t-shirts boardshorts and sandals
most guys come back from surfing during lunch without shirts let only caring what shirt they were wearing that morning
girls are different but still pretty laid back
but even here people make an effort on the first day

Linkin Park and Fall out Boy aren't punk rock. They never were and they never will.

I'm just wearing a band t-shirt and cargo shorts.

plus my Nike 180s :p

Fallout Boy + Linkin Park are Pop Rock. They are in NO way Punk Rock.

^ yeah, I geuss I got those two confused. ......They're not far from related though

i'm wearing a brown button-down mini-dress, with black pumps and a silk scarf.

relaxed, sophisticated.

I think you should be the person to set your own outfits. But if it were me, I would chose A, but minus the "preppy." It's strange that a guy would actually care about what to wear on the first day of school.
