,Thanks:D

iunno but it looks to me your grades are killing you and your ecs are nothing special, try to get one good ec instead of bombarding yourself with aps.

Honestly right now it's not looking great, but I'd say you have a strong chance at American and it's a really great school so don't stress too much!

wow, not to sound extremely mean, but nyu, georgetown, mich, chicago, toronto and mcgill are sorta reach schools for your grades. try and better your scores on the sats to at least 2000.

mmm-hmm thank u,thank u,thank u...any others?....i heard i had a shot at georgetown becuz of the whole middle-east thing nd the MUN...they say that at georgetown, international applicants r a different pool...

BUMP (10 char)

You need to take a realistic look at your list. You have Cs in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade, and your SATs are low for a number of the schools on your list. You really need a new list, with schools like George Washington and American closer to the top of the list.

ohhh..no i didnt meen to rite them in order of preference....id want to get into 2 or 3 of those....George Washington wud be gr8!...ive been told that with a few extra pushes,i shud have a fair shot at NYU

Just to give you some sense of what you're up against, the middle 50% range of SATs at NYU is 1810-2110.

assuming i hit 1800+???

Well, the better you do, the better your chances will be. But I still think you need to add some more schools that are less selective. Given your current stats, I have to think that Georgetown, UVa, Chicago, and probably several of the others are extreme long shots. You can still take your shot and apply to them, but you really need to have several safer schools.

yea....no...i mite just go to college here in my own country....yea i always knew tha georgetown, uva and chicago were long shots...but wut abt the rest?

oh nd btw...wen u say long shots...u dnt meen impossible shots?! rite?..i meen a few good recommendations, essays and ECs for next yr mite just tip me in,am i rite?

Well, it's always hard to say, but lets look at what is probably the biggest reach on your list, University of Chicago. The middle 50% of SAT verbal scores there is 670-770, and for math it's 650-760. You didn't give the breakdown of your SAT, but you can see that a combined SAT of 1600, or even 1800, would be very low for this school. Combined with Cs on your transcript, this makes it extremely tough for you, unless you have something else very unusual on your resume, which doesn't appear in what you've posted. I don't want to rain on your parade, or anyone else's, but you need to be hard-nosed and realistic about this process. Look at the College Board's website, and at some college guides, to see what the range of scores and grades are at various schools.

hmmm...point understood...i'll cut it or replace it...how bout the rest?

Look at the College Board's website. Buy a good college guide. Compare your qualifications to those of admitted students, and make an educated decision on what should be in and out. Don't be afraid to include some schools that are reaches, but be realistic.

-George Washington- Denied
-NYU-Stern- Denied
-UVA- Denied
-American University- Accepted
-Georgetown(dream school)- Denied
-Umich- Denied
-Uchic- Denied
-Lehigh- Accepted
-Mcgill- Denied
-U Of Toronto- Denied

Not trying to be mean but you need to pick some more realistic reaches.
Going from a 1680 to a 1900+ will be extremley difficult.

you need some safety schools and some better matches on your list
