on the edge about pursuing ivys or just sticking to 2nd tier..chance me plz

I am entering my senior year of high school in Hillsborough NJ, and being that I am in the thick of my college search, I am having some doubts about my chances at top tier/ivy league schools. My parents are the typical asian parents that want high academic performance 110% of the time lol so they obvi want me to apply to many of the ivies, however I have to be realistic about my trancript and academic profile, and think that I prob will have to downgrade to something smaller or less prestigious academically.

Before I record my profile and my list of schools, I also want to say that I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine, and esp. a 7-year med program, so some of the schools i have listed reflect that path. Therefore I am more looking for my chances of getting into that program rather than the school itself in those cases. If i don't list 7year then it doesnt apply.

SO

Heres some background:

SATI: 690 crit. read | 760 math | 770 writing (12 essay)
SATII: 680 U.S. History | 700 Math II | 710 Biology (not so great i kno)

GPA: 93.7 UW; 101 W

My school doesnt rank but im assuming at least top 5% in a class of 600

My courseload has always been rigorous. Ive taken all Honors and AP, loading up on as much as I can. I doubled up on science freshmen year, and will be doing so again senior year. I have all 5 APs in my sched for senior year.

I got 5s on all 3 AP exams I took so far (bio, us history, eng lang and comp)

Red Cross Club
Interact

Sports: JV Tennis, soon to be varsity, and Winter Track (prob not doing that again)

Volunteered at Red Cross and NJ Blood Bank Blood Drives several times, volunteered at Highland Park Food Bank, volunteered here and there in association with clubs like Citizens of the International Community and Interact.

Work: Worked as a tennis camp counselor in Summer of 2010 at two different camps, one at a privately owned camp and one at Cherry Valley Country Club.

Awards: Multiple Science Olympiad Medals, including a third and fourth place finish at regionals, and a fourth place finish at states.

Thanks for the patience in reading all that, now for the schools part,

Ill start with the 7year meds im want to look into:

Cornell

thats about it.

THANKS so much for reading this whole post I really really appreciate it. I need some help on this one, and am not sure in which direction to go. I am more than willing to help anyone else out with some return posts if necessary, but plz just give me some input if u can.

Thanks again,
jaybird

Considering you are an ORM with low SAT scores (for the Ivies) and low SAT IIs, there is <5% chance you get into Upenn, Duke, Harvard, or Princeton, in my opinion. You have a slim chance at Cornell and Johns Hopkins. A high match at WUSTL, U of Chicago and the rest are matches.

Holy Cross and Tufts have great pre-med.

yea i figured as much for the top ivies.

i haven’t heard much about Tufts in general, one of my friends went there to study, but outside of that I haven’t really hear about their pre-med. How does it stack up/what does it compare to?

I would not waste the time on apps to Harvard or Princeton, but the others are worth a sor, especially if you retake SATs.

dont rule yourself out based on what people say. they dont know everything, me included. I say go for it. 2220 is not that bad and anyone that says its not ivy material is silly. yeah, your sat subjects scores are going to hurt, but its not the end of the world. Go for it and dont regret that you did not try. everyone that gets into harvard does not have a 2300 plus.
