Hey guys. I’m currently taking really difficult classes such as ap calc bc, ap spanish, ap gov, a college humanities class and a college anthro class.
I’m doing well in every class except for ap gov, in which I will receive an 80 or 85. It’s honestly because the teacher makes his tests so meticulous and hard. I genuinely regret taking this class. Will this reflect poorly upon myself when colleges receive my mid-year report. Thank you :(.
Blaming a teacher reflects poorly. Rise above.
It won’t. It’s only an 80 or 85. A “D” or “F” would hurt, but I highly doubt 1 “B” would negatively affect your application…
I agree with @snarlatron. The only thing that reflects poorly on you is blaming the teacher.
I’m sure making outlines of the textbook, studying 5+ hours, and still doing poorly is a reflection of my poor work ethic @snarlatron @erin’s dad
Half my class failed our last test and there was no curve, but that’s besides the point. I can’t possibly do better in that class.
I apologize for the misunderstanding, our tests are very difficult, that’s all.
Thank you @RealSuperSand for answering my question directly :).
You have an extremely heavy class load, effectively 5 college level classes. Your schedule would be no less rigorous if you can gracefully drop that ap government class.
Don’t be mad that he makes his tests hard. My AP government teacher would always put on CNN Student news everyday. That took about 15 minutes to set up and watch. It was the most pointless thing ever. He would also give the most easiest test ever. Then when the AP test came, everyone failed because his class was so darn easy.
Nobody said you didn’t work hard, nobody said the tests are not extremely difficult. Bottom line is you are doing your best but have a very tough teacher and are not getting the grades you like or are used to. Most good students have been in your position at some point and it will likely happen to you again in college. Keep plugging away and do your best. One B senior year will not be an issue.
I wasn’t trying to start an argument of any sort, I was just really upset yesterday for some reason. I understand he wants us to actually learn and so what if we do bad on his tests, grades aren’t everything. Thank you to everyone who responded :).
@fogcity I forgot to mention I’m also taking organic chem haha, but it’s okay I’ll keep ap gov on my schedule!!
