One bad grade?

I am a community college student in California and my goal is to transfer to UCD or UCSD (probably UCD) for the 2017-2018 school year, the problem is, I got a D in a summer class, I am a science major and it was a design class, but it still a D, I will be repeating the course in the Fall, however the class will not be finished by the time applications are due? Will this ruin my chances of admission? I am doing internships, working, and my grades are fine otherwise. I got into UCD as a freshman admit and I would hate to think I threw that down the drain by starting at CCC, and screwing up one class. Thanks.

I think it won’t be that bad. By the time they look at the application, you would already have submitted your fall grades. I plan to apply this fall too, and I have read a lot post about people in similar situations. It seemed things have worked out for them.

What specific major are you? If it’s something really competitive, it might have a bigger impact.

I applying to Global Disease Biology, which I don’t think is too competitive? It is the same major I was accepted for as a freshman. Are you applying to UCD too?
